 I don't know how the weeks fly by, but they do.  And now it has been several weeks since I last posted on October 24th.  I have even had a birthday since I last posted!  Our son came to visit for a week!  I finished Julie Dear Julie November to Remember Junk Journal Challenge, #ntrjjc22 Our challenge was to do at least 60 pages; I did 64.  We were challenged to make at least 60 different elements, among which should be a flip flop, fabric flip, pockets, double tuck, fluffy tassel, paperclips, tattoos, edges, antique ribbon closures.  We were to use something pink, a daisy, #8, bling, something that flies, a garden object, something to do with the sky.  We could use anything from our stash, plus, junk mail, unfinished embellishment base, large file card, index cards, envelopes, ink & dauber, stamping stenciling, die cuts, x-tra cardstock, torn book pages, and yarn!  We also have to use at least 6 pages of her digitals.

I made this journal for my own use.  It has charts for my weekly SplitcoastStampers challenges as well as a place to keep track of birthday and anniversary dates of friends, family, and church family so I can send cards. It is a 6 month journal December thru May.

Here is the cover:

The cover is from adhesive backed Fabric Paper from my stash.  I got 12x12 sheets of this years ago from Tuesday Morning.  I have covered several journals with it.  The adhesive no longer works so had to use glue anyway,  I glued it to the paper for the inside with the lace in between the layers.

Inside cover and page one:

That is a library pocket decorated with a stamped die cut panel, colored with Copics.  A triple tag with gold ring and lace is the insert.  The first page is one of her Colorful Daisy pages, which by the way is a digital set I won as a prize for doing another month's journal challenge.  If we finish our monthly challenge, we win a digital set of usually 30 to 60 files, and a live party on you tube.

I wanted to show you the hidden journal card made with and index card. I will use the card to write down January cards I need to send.

Don't worry, I will not show all 64 pages! LOL  But here is the center of the signature, I just did one signature.  I folded the doily over the binding threads and glued it down as a tuck.  Again, Julies beautiful colorful Daisy digitals.

Last one I will show you is one of my favorite pages with the half page tuck.  The insert is a card I got for my birthday.  You can also see some of the edges and tabs in the journal on the right.

Hello!  We finally have some rain here, and cooler temps, 49 degrees Fahrenheit! Yesterday it was so windy and still in the 80s, that we had fire alerts in our area. So dry! I didn't walk yesterday or today but did the previous three days.  However, today, I am going to show you information about my trail I walk.

This part of the trail is really kept up quite nicely!

And we have sunflowers on the trail.

I met with friends last week at Panera, and just barely remembered to take a photo for this week's TSFT party over at Bleubeard & Elizabeth's at Altered Book Lover.  I was drinking what Panera calls Earl Greyer hot tea.  We also were looking at this book that I may use for our daytime Bible study next Spring.  This author is who was the speaker at the retreat that I went to in September.  She is a very good speaker.

I have been crafting this past week, scrapbooking, card making and other papercraft projects.  I had commented to Iris that I had done a little planner type journaling and she encouraged me to share, even if I am not good at it yet.

I decided I will only do one when inspired, and not worry about doing it every day.  I am doing them in my mixed media 7"x10" journal, so far just on the backs of pages that I have already done.  I actually did this one while watching a video about doing them.  I thought I would use items I forget to use, like a variety of markers, crayons, etc.

Again, I got supplies out that are hidden in drawers; thus I forget to use them!  Gel pens, metalic pencils, distress crayons, etc.  I did use some stamps, the footsteps, the pumpkin & leaves.  The rest is doodling.

 We will see if I continue.  I think it will be fun if I just do it once in a while, when inspired.  I think it would feel too much like a job if I did it on a daily or even weekly basis.

T Stands for Pickle Juice

Whaaaat? you ask.  That is right, Pickle Juice!  A friend, a year or so ago, gave me a 6 pack of these little bottles when I was getting leg cramps quite often.    I had drunk most of them right after she had given them to me.  Just last week I thought I had drunk plenty of water, but was experiencing terrible cramps in my feet, legs, and even my hands were cramping terrible.  I remembered this last bottle in my refrigerator and drank it and got relief!  I don't know why, but it worked for me.  So I am sharing this as my drink for the T Stands for Tuesday party over at Altered Book Lover hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth.

I think Elizabeth will be amused with my TSFT ticket this week.   She has been missed, although Erika did a fabulous job filling in last week.  We all can't wait to hear about Eliabeth's jury duty adventure! :) 

With the cooler temps, I enjoyed a 4 mile walk 5 out of 7 days last week!  Not a lot of color on the trail yet, but a little:

I have found time to craft, too.  I have been working on my heritage album.  Here is a very simple layout using a branding strip for a border and a Hallmark greeting.  I decided to pair the Hallmark birthday greeting to my dad on a page with his baby photo.  I thought that a little bit of history worked well with the heritage album. I stamped the title and punched with a SU! label punch.

Good evening!  Once again it is time to join in with bloggers around the world for T Stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover with Bleubeard & Elizabeth.  I missed last week as I was busy all day every day, and today, too!  But will try to get this post done.  After all, I keep taking trail photos and food photos, so better share some of them.

First, here is what I have done today.  I colored 15 of these, because they are one month of my Christmas gift calendars.  I am trying to get them done by the end of October, as one of the recipients might be here, and I can send the gift home with him.  These little calendars fit into 3 1/2x5" acrylic frames, which they already have.  Good thing, too, because I can't find them anymore!  This was stamped with retired SU! set Little by Little, then colored with COPICs.  The edeges were sponged in blue and I stenciled the clouds using a scalloped punched circle.

Good evening!  How is everyone, this week, so far?  It is cooler, only 80s today here, so I got in a great walk today!  So nice.  I hope it stays this way for a while.  I have had some wonderful walks in the cool mornings.  Met some great doggies, too.  I usually ask the owners is I can take the dog's photo, and ask the name, and breed.  I see some of these same dogs every day, when I walk.

Love these!  Doodles meeting up on the trail! I got their photo but forgot to get the white one's name.  The other two, I have met before and they are Bruno & Schmoo, I think.

Next we have Norwich terriers: Mom & Daughter.  The darker one is daughter Mia.

The lighter one is mother, Rosie.

And this is my favorite.  She is so pretty: Birdie is a Sheepadoodle.

And we have Fall signs on the trail.  This is a permanent sign, but they added a temporary sign with pumpkin patch on it.

And for crafting today I am showing scrap pages of 2013 photos that I just found on my computer.  Also working on another 2013 spread.  I have entered them in the Art*Journal*Journey this month for Neet's Fur or Feathers theme.

I used SU! Four Feathers Stamp & die set.  The stamped image right on the layout is Fun Stampers Journey.  I stamped feather on a special cream paper and used hot gun to make the little Shrink Art charm.  All the papers are from stash! (of which I have a lot!) Oh, and the other multi color feathers are stickers from my stash!   This is the right page of the 2-page 12x12 spread.  The title is from a stash of  words on vellum. 

 On this page I used alpha stickers for the title, more feather stickers, and more (SU! Four Feather set) feathers stamped and dye cut. I also used more paper, and scraps from my extensive stash collection.

I always get to this point and realize TSFT is all about the beverage and I don't have a reference ready! LOL So I will share a card I made for the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges this year.  Hopefully, I haven't already shown you.

Art Just for Fun!

 I am just playing along with the Scrap Summit this week; lots of inspiration!  So, decided to play along with the Messy Mixed & Joyful challenge on SplitcoastStampers & Art*Journal*Journey for this month's challenges.  Neet our hostess on Art*Journal*Journey this month challenged us with a Fur and/or Feathers theme.  Our Challenge hostess on the MMJ (Messy, Mixed, and Joyful) challenge for September was Amy and she challenged us to us:  Use 2 or more of the following:  I used all, I think.

Something that shimmers        I used Fun Stampers Journal Silks & Glitter acrylic paints.

Clouds or something weather related I used My Favorite Thigs cloud dies.

A Face    Three faces in photo.

The #9 (or nine of something) I used 9 Nuvo Crystal dots.  (Duck Egg Blue)

Grit or texture paste I used Gesso

Technique: Layering Die Cuts      Secret Garden SU! 

I put gesso on my 7"x10" Canson Mixed Media page very thinly to start.  Then I used Speckled Egg Oxide ink through a stencil. (Recollections) Then I applied the glitter acrylic paint. I found this photo of a scrap page of the event, that our granddaughter and I made together.    I tore pages from a bird book. I added Washi tape, stamping, & a rhinestone.  I wanted to remember this: our daughter took this photo of my grandchildren & I, watching a mother duck with about 8 ducklings.

All began with one of the videos on the Scrap Summit to use photos in your journaling that you weren't going to use in a scrap page.  I wasn't using this one as it was in an envelope for unused but can't bring myself to throw away! LOL Something else I learned was instead of messing with spiral on the side, turn it so it is up, out of your way

Hello! Glad to see you here today!  Smiling... 

 I was at a ladies Bible retreat this weekend at a wonderful camp outside Ark City, Kansas, Camp Horizon.  We had a wonderful speaker, Susan Heck from Tulsa Oklahoma.  She spoke on Abiding in Christ, and Bible memorization, and how that helps us to abide in Christ. It was a wonderful refreshing time in the Lord, as well as a wonderful time of fellowship with other ladies of like faith.  The camp served wonderful homemade food, with choices for those that couldn't have dairy or who were gluten intolerant.  I thought that was wonderful of them to have those options.  Besides that, I had a wonderful room, like a motel room with my own private bathroom. I had pictured rooms with bunk beds at a camp!  That was totally unexpected.  The views were wonderful, and we were able to go hiking on their trails, also.  Lovely time, and I have photos below.

The first thing I did after arriving was search out one of their trails. I first walked to the prayer garden.

Next, I walked the path to the outside chapel.

My photo doesn't do the view justice, sorry.  I was so impressed because usually we think of Kansas as flat and no hills.  But we were definitely on a hill looking over a valley.  I was here at the hottest part of the day, but I bet it is gorgeous at sunrise or sunset.  Can you imagine an outside wedding here?

And I can't remember if I showed you the junk journal, I did for our September Challenge for Dearjuliejulie.    #SSSSJJC22      The cover is from a padded envelope I received in the mail.  They had reused the envelope and did the art over the address to them.  I covered the other side that had my address and used it for the cover.  I added my own cluster and touch to their art.  I think it made a great cover for a junk journal.  What do you think?  Elizabeth, did you notice I even got my sewing machine out and stitched the envelope to scrapbook paper for the inside cover?  In fact the lace is stitched between the envelope and the scrapbook paper.  First time I have sewn in years!
