T Stands For Thanksgiving!

" Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms." Psalms 95:2

We are celebrating Thanksgiving in the states this Thursday. It is a national holiday here, with most offices and schools closed. Although colonists celebrated a harvest in 1621 with native Americans, it was later that the Continental Congress established an official day of giving thanks on September 28, 1789 to honor that first Thanksgiving celebration.  Then President George Washington issued a proclamation naming Thursday November 26, 1789 as a "Day of Publick Thanksgivin"  .  Then during the Civil War, President proclaimed that Thanksgiving be a national holiday celebrated every November.  I got this info off the web.  I know Canada had their Thanksgiving last month, and I am not sure who else celebrates a holiday like this, but be sure and let me know if your country does this.

I am thankful this year that we have some of our family here; our son.  This is the first time since 2013 that we have had any family with us.  My mother was still with us and she would come for our dinner and to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with us.  It was always a tradition to watch that as we prepared the feast, and then to watch games after!

I missed TSFT last week for two reasons.  One, I was finishing up our Falliday Fest Challenges at SplitcoastStampers, and I was cleaning house for company.  I should clean more often so it wouldn't be such a chore.  One big project is getting my craft room presentable! LOL

Here is a photo of some of the 19 projects I did for Falliday Fest.

Here is a close up of a Treasure Journal I made.  We were to make the cover from a greeting card.  My cover was from an Easter card that my secret sister sent me last year.

I added a fabric flower and ribbon to the edge.

I made a pocket on one page with part of another greeting card.

Above is a page out of a child's poetry book and some scrapbook paper.

I used an envelope made of handmade paper for one on the pages, so automatic pocket.

This is backside of music paper; I used leger paper here to make a pocket.  The yellow is back side of some scrap paper.  I added a doily and decorated with stickers.

I paper clipped this shut, but underneath, I made a stack a note. the right side is poems out of another book that I bought at a garage sale several years ago.

Showing panel opened with stack a note

This shows next to last page of my Treasure Journal.  The left is back of the poetry page.  Also, the other side of the envelope.  And, I included the signed page from the greeting card from my secret sis.

The last page of my journal.  I added a note page that someone sent in a card, and I made a back pocket on the back page of my journal, for a journaling card.

on left is a pockt with a tag, on the right I made a whole page pocket with the leger paper and music paper on the back.  Journal page inside.

and last my tea for TSFT with back of center page of my journal.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my 5x7 mini treasure journal with Greeting card cover.  26 pages counting the front and back cover.
I have had problems with Blogger today, so hope this publishes correctly.  I also, hope all in the U.S. have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Thanks to all of you for stopping by for TSFT.  Be sure and stop over at Elizabeth & Bleubeard's at Altered Book Lover to check out the other participants in this tea party.

T Stands For It is Still Tuesday!

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4

Good afternoon, readers.  I am posting a tad late to hook up over at TSFT where Elizabeth & Bleubeard host a tea party every Tuesday.  We all post something drink related in our post and then we all check out what every one is doing while we sip our drinks.

We have been having some beautiful days here since Sunday, so I have been walking everyday!  Here are a few photos from my walk:

Now they have taken down the Halloween decorations and hung a few of these.

Aren't the trees beautiful?  I keep bringing home leaves!  I put them in books but the loose their color, unlike the ones I modged podged.  They kept their color.  I don't know what I will do with all the leaves, but I just can't help myself.

For my ticket to the tea party, I will show you photos of something I didn't know existed until about a month ago.  When I stopped I was thinking a cup of hot tea.  See for yourself.

I drank it all.

I drank the Texas Sweet Chai, too sweet for me.  So, that was a new experience!

What crafting have I been doing?  We are having Falliday Fest at SplitcoastStampers.
Here is one project I did for the Throwback Cake Blitz:

You can get the template here.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Happy T Day to the T Gang!

T Stands For Thankful For Another Birthday

 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;

thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4

Hello readers!  I am thankful for another birthday, and thankful for all my friends who helped me celebrate it, too.

I thought I would share a photo of my cards I received, most of them handmade:

The wonderful card with the two ladies at the table is from our tea party Jan all the way from Spain. The cards are all so creative.  I am inspired by the store bought turquoise card.

The turquoise one is from a friend, Jayne, in Australia, (one of my readers) and the Mary Poppins one is from Ireland.  The little blue one with an adorable sheep peeking up is from another of my readers, Linda.  Thank you all for my cards!  I missed getting in two others in the photo.

And this one is one a friend gave me a church since you couldn't really mail it.  She paid someone to make it for me.  This was so nice, and a lot of work!

I am also thankful for my husband!  He took me out to Red Lobster for my birthday!  This is also my ticket for TSFT this week over at Altered Book Lover hosted by our wonderful hostess, Elizabeth and Bleubeard, too.

And I am thankful for my wonderful sister who sent me flowers!  Aren't they gorgeous!

I am thankful for all my blog readers, too.  I hope this finds you all well today.  Happy T Day to the T Gang. Happy week to you all.
