What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday 291

I am trying to reorganize for the new year, so first my desk must be a mess.  Then it really will become more organized.  Right now I am labeling some boxes for stamps that have been just loose in a drawer. So my label maker is out on my desk as well as all the little scraps. If you look closely you can even see one of my Christmas gifts.  I had ask for a deck chair for my iPad, you know one like on Julia's desk?  She was an enabler!  Sh! Don't tell her I told you!
Also below are photos I promised of my finished gift calendars.  I made 15 sets of them.  Thank you for stopping by.  Here is a link to Julia's Stamping Ground.  She is our hostess for this World Wid Desk Hop!  Happy New Year!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 287

Hi WOYWW Deskers!  I am really late to the desk hop this week!  A friend and I were crafting and then I had to do my walking!  Then it was supper time!  So, now that Wednesday is almost over, I will share what my desk looks like.  My friend and I are stamping our gift calendars, so what you see is a part of her and some that she stamped.  We each got a started into our project!  Feels good to be started! She used some of my stamps and I used some of hers.  Nothing like getting to use new stamps to get you inspired!  Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out our hostess, Julia, at Stamping Ground.

Have a great week!  I am off to snoop in your areas! :)

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday 286

Good morning to all you WOYWW deskers, and to the rest of you too! It is time again to show our desks!  This is how mine looks this morning.   I am still trying to get all the Virtual Scrapbook Night Challenges done!  I still have three more to do, before the end of the month.   I picked out the letters from some chipboard letters for my title on the page I am creating,  then realized two of the letters weren't the correct color.  So, I had to paint them, and the brackets. I am giving them time to dry before I complete the page. Still don't know what embellishments I will put on the page yet.   My calendars are all cut out now for 2015, but I haven't begun to stamp them yet, so they are all just stacked up waiting for me to get motivated. A Christmas card I made this week, is still on my desk. So that's it today.  Oh, be sure to stop over at Julia's Stamping Ground to check out what all this desk sharing desks is about!

I remember at this time how  thankful I am for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for my family, my friends, and my country.

Ps. 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Thank you all for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 285 & Enamel Dots

Good morning WOYWW Deskers!   And good morning to the rest of you, too!  In retirement, my mornings begin later and later!  It has snowed here and has remained on the ground  for 4 days so far, and my Dear Husband and I are already suffering from cabin fever!  What will it be like in the dead of Winter?!  So, I went over and took a photo of my work desk for today's desk hop sponsored by Julia at Stamping Ground.  Check over there for all the details.  I have begun work on my gift calendars, well at least cutting them out.  Thanks to a dear Splitcoast friend, we will have them again this year!  Also, I am still working on the Virtual Srapbook Night Challenges which last the whole month on November on Splitcoast Stamper.  But, now will get this post up, and then go to the Mall to walk to get my 10,000 steps (at least).  These last four days I have made paths in my house from indoor walking! LOL
This past week-end I went to a wonderful Ladies Bible Conference with Susan Heck as a speaker.  She is a wonderful inspiring speaker and spoke on Bible Memorization and the Titus 2 woman, dicipleship.  I came away with a new attitude to memorizing scripture, by the book.  I am beginning with Titus.  That is a small book. :)  Ask me about it from time to time and hold me accountable!!!!

I have included some scrapbook pages I finished this last week.  I will come by and see you when I get back from my walking. Did you notice up in the right hand corner, that I am walking the Pacific Crest Trail, virtually?  Thank you for stopping by!  Oh, I almost forgot, several have emailed me and asked  for the Homemade Enamel Dots directions. Here it is: Enamel Dots Tutorial

What are those stickers on my Ott Lite organizer??? LOL

Also took part in Virtual Stamp Night card challenges.
The challenge was to use an ice cube on your card!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 284 & VSBN

Good morning!  Here it is barely still morning as I begin this post.  I love being retired!  It is 11:58 AM and I am still in my jammies and robe!  It is not even up to freezing today and I don't think it will reach that high today.  Monday it was a record breaking 77 degrees here, and Tuesday 37, and now 25!  So, retired is really a nice thing to be today!
Here is a photo of my messy desk.  I think it is messier than our hostess, Julia's.  I have been scrapping pages for Virtual Scrapbook Night on Splitcoast Stampers this week.  I have done 11 pages for 8 challenges out of 15 challenges.  Though, I am not finished with the challenges, I think I need to take time out to clean off my space before going any further!  There is supposed to be 13 feet of work space, but as you can see there is none.  In fact, I had to get down on the floor with my cuttlebug to cut out some dies for layers on my pages.  Hopefully, by next week, I can have the space cleared off so I can show you some of my pages.  Thanks for stopping by and stay warm!  Check over on Stamping Ground to see more deskers!

Hello, everyone.  Sorry, I didn't post last week!  It was my birthday week, and I just took the week off to celebrate!  I celebrated with friends on three different days, as well as with my husband for a Birthday dinner at Olive Garden! I received many birthday phone calls from friends and family.  One of my friends came over on my birthday and we stamped and played in my craft room.  I recieved fabulous handmade birthday cards, and lots of crafting goodies, and two vases of flowers!  So you see, I didn't have time to post.  Here is a photo of cards made by my crafty friends!  Another is a photo of me with flowers our son sent, and the last two are of my friend and I in my craft room. My week was blessed with friends and family. I do praise the Lord for his many blessings!  So that's my desk this week!  :)  Check out Julia's Stamping Ground to see what other deskers are doing.  Thanks for stopping by!

My BFF got me lots of goodies, including an envelope maker.

I had such a blessed  birthday!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 281 & Thank You Enablers!

Happy WOYWW everyone! I recently  watched a hilarious You tube of a crafter who blamed all the You tube tutorials for her craft spending. She used to be happy with one kind of adhesive, some paper and photos.  But now, she says she has purchased all different kinds of adhesives: glue, red line, ATV, dots, dementionals, etc!  She now has all kinds of pearls, embellies, etc, and an abundance of paper!
Well as I watched that I realized that before I started looking at all your desks, I thought I had everything!  LOL  I have been participating in WOYWW since September 2013.  Since I started you have enabled (to just name two) me to want  a Gelli Print Plate, and Zentangle pen and paper,  I even went to classes for both of those mentioned!  So many other things too!  I just want to thank you, really thank you for introducing me to new crafts.  I really enjoy it all!
Also, what I enjoy is when you make helpful comments!  As you can see, I still have my unique marker holder, (was a spice rack I bought at a garage sale for $2.00 about a year ago.)  I asked you what I should do with it, and several said use it to hold my markers!  I liked that and the look of it too!  But, alas, the markers kept falling out the back and under the cabinets, where it was difficult for me to find them.  After that several suggested putting a back on it.  This is the deal, they would then fall out the front because it isn't deep enough.  Now, I am thinking as I collect my SU! blendabilities, I will leave them in the boxes, and maybe they won't fall out as easily.  Maybe?  For now, anyway. :)
Then last week, I ask about putting a thank you for your comments into the comment box.  Thank you Krafty Karen, and Rasz for helping me with that.  I think I was successful, even if it is so small and low.  Don't know if anyone will notice it.  I will tweak it sometime.
All of this to say thank you to all of you deskers for your comments, and for all your enabling!

And now for why we are here!  To show our desks! And if you want to see more desks check out Stamping Ground, where our hostess Julia has everything all layed out for us.  I made that card in a Blendability workshop, and have been practicing on some oother flowers.  Also, some quilling I have been playing with, and a reject card, mabe I will use it for something.  Then some buys at 60% off from Michaels!  Yes, I guess Michaels was the enabler this time! :)

Have a great Wednesday!

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Good afternoon!  I wasn't going to post today, but here I am!   Here is what my desk looks like for all you WOYWW snoopers! :)  Completed scrap pages, cards from a SU! workshop yesterday, and a new toy!  I got this EK tulip edge punch for $3.99 today and was excided to come home and play with it.  I think it will make fun pieces to put on cards as well as great boarders for scrap pages. I am a fan of  EK punches, because if something doesn't work, their customer service is great.  I speak from experience.
It has been a great day so far! Our Son called us this morning and we had a wonderful chat with him.  It is always nice to hear from our kids who are gone from the nest and live far, far away!   And then we had a wonderful time of Christian fellowship and Bible study this morning, at our ladies weekly Bible Study.   A great way to begin the day!  I hope you are having a blessed day today!

Stop by and see Julia' Stamping Ground and the other deskers if you want to snoop some more desks! Thank you for stopping by!  I am late, but I will come by and see you.  Hugs!

     Good Morning WOYWW Deskers!
What gorgeous days we are having here!  Hope it is beautiful where you
are!  Thank you everyone who commented last week! So I have included a photo of my finished card for my
friend (as requested). Also in the photo are some other little things I made with  matching papers.  One has a gift card in it and the other has some homemade enamel dots I baked for her..  I got that recipe off of  Coffee, Stamps, & Chaos.  It works! I included a photo of the dots and of a new addition on my desk.  Thank you Julia for the information on the deck chair.  It is so cute, but I went for cheap!  LOL But I think I will send the link for the deck chair for my Mini to my kids, maybe they will get it for me for Christmas. :)  Since Julia thought my area was so neat I included a photo of my other area- where I post  my Blog from my laptop.  No one can say that  is neat!  My husband doesn't think any of my "nests" are neat!  Okay, I do not know why my post is posting so wierd, but I have tried to align everything to the left, but it won't do it.  Please bare with me.

Here is where you can visit more deskers or link to our desk hop  Julia's Stamping Ground.

Thank you for stopping by.  I will try to come by and see you!  Happy WOYWW!

Tri Shutter Card  for friend with matching gift card holder and goodie holder.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 278

Good afternoon!  I have been gone again.  We went to Colorado for a family reunion.  It was so interesting to get together with everyone and get re-acquainted. Even found a cousin in law who shares my interest in stamping!  But, I did miss all of you!  Today's photo of my desk shows a card I am in the process of making for my BFF.  We have known each other for over 50 years, and she is a card maker too, so it has to be special.  I am not done with it yet, just have it laying there, and maybe when looking at it, I will think what else I want to do with it! LOL  My latest Su! order is sitting there as I just picked it up this week.  Some HL purchases are sitting there too.  Also I wanted to point out, the empty rack, because you will wonder where my markers are. Although that was a lovely rack for my markers, they were always falling out the back and under the work area.  I got tired of crawling around on the floor looking for them.  So, I moved them temporaily into those plastic clam SU! boxes.  Now, here we are again with the question what to do with that lovely rack? :)

Also, I thought I would include a photo or two of our trip. We love Colorado! And it was a pretty time of the year to go.  But, it is great  to be back!  I look forward to your comments, and I will be stopping by your desks.  If you do not already take part in the wonderful desk hop, why don't you join us?
Check out the other deskers at Julia's Stamping Ground.

We rode the cog train up and down Pikes Peak.

Pikes Peak was completely socked in on top as well as on the way up.

Photo of Pikes Peak before we left our cabin.
Thanks for stopping by,  Have a great Wednesday!

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

Good afternoon, everyone!  I am getting to this post kind of late in the day, but "getting her done!"  My Mom used to say that is what her and Dad used to say to each other, and that it was a quote  from John  Wayne.  But seems like lately I heard it was something else.  Anyway, my Dad was a big John Wayne fan! :)  Well, so much for that rabbit trail!

It is time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, sponsored by Julia at Stamping Ground.

So this is what mine looks like, as I am scrapping my cruise photos.  I have about 4 pages dones out of 20.  And below that is a photo of happy mail I received this week.  Just for commenting a month or so ago, I won this great prize!  Thank you Brenda aka Disney Girl! :)

I have been MIA from the Desk Hop for the past two weeks.  Been cruising!  We celebrated our 48th anniversary, which by the way is today, by going on a 11 day Alaskan cruise on the  Princess Star.
We saw lots of great scenery; glaciers, waterfalls, mountains, and beautiful coastline.  And besides that, we went letterboxing, and I learned napkin folding, Quilling and Origami.  We even made a Travel Journal in a class on ship. The entertainment was great on the ship, as well as the food, the service and all of the activities.  My husband and I throuroghly enjoyed our cruise!

So a couple of photos:  First one is of my desk as it looks right now, with my photo prints, and mementos from the cruise.  I am trying to choose photos and divide up everything so that I can begin the scrapping process.  Second and third one are of some fabulous girls I met and crafted with on the ship.  They gave me permission to post their photo on my Blog.  We really enjoyed crafting together on the  At Sea Days.  The fourth photo one of the great sights we saw on our cruise in  Glacier Bay and the last is of my husband and I celebrating our anniversary on formal night on the ship.

WOYWW 271 & Card Making Marathon

Happy Wednesday fellow Bloggers! Here we are again! I just had a terrific card making marathon week. Splitcoast Stampers hosted Dare to Get Dirty Challenges  for all the Fan Club members.  It was like Christmas for all of us.  We had 8 days of challenges, for a total of 49 challenges.  There were technique challenges, sketch challenges and  color challenges, just to name a few.   I got to play with all my "stuff".  I stamped with stamps that hadn't seen ink yet, and used tools I hadn't used yet and used embellishments that hadn't been opened yet.  I made some great cards, but even better, I have sent at least 10 of them off already.  Some are for future birthdays of friends, and family and some are even Christmas cards.  It feels great to have had all that fun and to have these cards as a result.  Thank you to SCS and all the hostesses for a fabulous week of fun!  I feel like not only did I have fun, but I accomplised something.

Group photo 45 of the 49

These are 4 I mailed off before all the cards were done.

Made with  Our Daily Bread stamps & a MFT Die

Loved using this color combo

Thank you all for stopping by, and I will try to get by to see you  this week!  Sorry if I missed you last week.  I was trying to get all those cards done by the deadline! :)  Happy Whats On Your Workdesk? Wednesday!  Stop by Julia's Stampin Ground for all the details.

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

Hello everyone!  Hope you all are having a terrific week!  I have been busy crafting  this week for a change. I have been participating in Splitcoast Stamper's Dare to Get Dirty Challenges, making 24 cards since Saturday morning!  So as you can see my clean neat room from last week is no more!
See the ribbon pile?  I couldn't find the right ribbon.  Why is it that no matter how much ribbon you have, it is not quite the right color, or size, or texture?
Why am I showing you my desk?  Check out Stamping Ground for all the details about Julia's Blog Hop.
You can visit desks all over the world.

I will show you one of my cards.  Happy WOYWW!  Thank you for stopping by and for your comments.  I will try to come by and see you.

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope you are having a great week!  It is that  time once again to desk hop and look at everyone's desk!  I always enjoy looking at all your spaces and seeing what you are doing. I have learned so many new things since I started particcipating in Julia's desk hop!  Check out the rest of the desks at Stamping Ground.
I finally have my space put back together again after the carpet cleaning.  I took the opportunity to purge and to reorganize.  I now have most of my sentiment stamps in a handy space right at my finger tips and organized by , Bible Versses, Sympathy, Get well, and Anniversary, etc.  One whole drawer is for birthday stamps.  One drawer is for scrapbooking stamps, (alphabet, etc), and one drawer is for holiday stamps.  I still have lots of other stamp sets;  but it is more organized, now.  Here are some photos of how it is organized. I really did purge some stamp sets, and got rid of one large plastic cabinet. And, I did make a card on Monday!

This card was made for several Splitcoast Stamper challenges.  I didn't take a photo of sentiment on the inside, so am showing you the stamp I stamped it with.  The paper is SU! Bliss Blue Brilliant Blue CS & DP, all retired.  I used the SU!  Beautiful Wings Emboslit, and Banners Framelits. I also used Spellbinders Inverted scallopped circle dies and added pearls to the butterflies.  That is another thing I did, put all my butterfly sets and sentiments are all in one place!  It is so much easier to put my hands on what I want to use!
Have a great Wednesday!  I will hop over and see you all.  Thanks for stopping by, and for your encouraging comments.

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

I tell you this Wednesday desk hop sure comes around quickly every week!  How does that happen?  I will try to post early, because  I have Bible study, then I am scheduled for a root canal! Ouch!  Last night I made a CAS Christmas Card for our SCS Twisted Sister Challenge to make a Christmas card using a wreath.  Very simple and it only took minutes.  Am seriously thinking I might make them all like this! I used SU! Sketch It for the wreath, and the sentiment is from RiverCity Rubber Works Pine & Holly stamp set. These are both old sets, but classic.

My desk this morning!

I made the above card with my new Our Daily Bread stamps that I got at the stamp show last month.  I made it for the SCS Try a New Technique challenge to score your card, and for the Clean and Simple Challenge to do a Beach Themed Card.  I am hoping this will be a good masculine card.  The cardstock is Baja Breeze, and Close to Cocoa, both retired.

Thanks for stopping by, and for your encouraging comments.  I will stop by your desks this afternoon,
If you don't know what What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday is, stop by Julia's Stamping Ground and check out our Desk Hop.  Happy Wednesday!

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday 267

Happy WOYWW this week!  I can't believe another week has gone by so quickly!  But I do  feel like I accomplished something this week!   I completed my 20 page South Dakota Album.  Yay!  I didn't get to enjoy that feeling of accomplishment very long, because I had to begin cleaning my room, and moving things off of  cabinets, so that I could get the craft room and family room carpet cleaned.  They move the big stuff, but I have to move all the lamps, and clutter!! So anyway, the photo I took is before I began cleaning off everything!  Also, I included another 2 page spread from my album.
I have to share what I did last night!  I had moved my markers over to another cabinet to make room for me to scrap.  I noticed later they weren't all there.  I went to my laptop and checked my Evernote inventory, and found two that were missing.  I suspected they were behind the cabinet.  I couldn't reach or see if they were there or not.  I drug a long stick back there  but didn't come come up with the markers.  After my husband went to bed, this 68 year old was bound  determine to retrieve those markers.  I cleaned the cabinet off, and lifted  the 6' top off and then moved the drawer section.  Sure enough they were under the cabinet.  I was so happy!  Then I had to get everything back together again.  I don't know how I had gotten that top lifted off, because it was quite the episode getting it back togther again.  I am glad no one was looking! LOL  What we don't do for our hobby!  Anyway, all Copics accounted for!
If you don't know what WOYWW is check out Stamping Ground for all the details about our Desk hop! You might even visit some of the other deskers.   Thank you for stopping by and reading my ramblings! Have a wonderful Wednesday.  I hope to come by and see you.

My desk after completing my album.  My teacup, and my Michaels sale items; acrylic paints half price for my Gelli printing.  Why so many tickets?  They didn't give me the sale price, and I had to go back and have them do it right!  Wax paper shapes from my dies.  What do you do with your leftover waxpaper dies?  I thought about using them in my Gelli prints.  What do you think?

I can't believe I finished all 20 pages!
