T Stands for Second Valentine Post

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart:

try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalms 139:23-24

Hello Readers! As promised last week, I will show you our Valentine meals. Yes, we actually had two special Valentine meals last week. That is good because we always celebrate Valentines Day, not just because it is a special day, but because my husband proposed to me on Valentine's Day exactly 56 years ago.  My husband always remembers this because it is also happens to be the 56th Super Bowl.  So as long as he knows which Super Bowl it is, he knows how many years ago he proposed and how long we have been married.  Yes, he is a football fan!

The first one was at our favorite Italian restaurant, where we had wonderful lasagna & manicotti.   I already ate some of my meal before remembering to take a photo.

The second one was a special event we were invited to at a local Senior Living facility where we attended a Sweetheart dinner & movie.  It was the most wonderful food, and my photos won't do it justice!

Our wonderful salad with the most scrumptious raspberry dressing.

Filet Oscar:  the tenderest filet, with crab meat on top and served with asparagus & hollandaise sauce.

Chocolate Mouse

The tables before we were seated:  The ones who wanted it were served wine.  We declined.

We even had music while we were eating.

We sat in front of the fire with our drinks, my tea, while waiting to be seated.

The craft I will share this week is the technique by Crafty Al on you tube. She shares a sketch every month for what she calls Sheetload of Cards.  This week I got a head start on my Christmas cards using one of her sketches.

It takes three sheets of 12x12 patterned paper and three sheets of colored cardstock, as well as white cardstock cut and folded for bases.  This sketch made 9 cards.  I added sentiments and ornaments that I already had on hand.  So with this 9, I now have 17 completed Christmas cards done, including stamped sentiments on the inside and envelopes with a little decoration stamped on the outside. Not bad for February 20th.  So if I go for same amount I needed last year, I only have 47 more to go.   I might need more next year, to.  So it won't hurt to make extra.  I have set a goal of 5 a month, but I am ahead.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hi to the T Gang.  Be sure and visit Bleubeard and Elizabeth at Altered Book Lover.  That is where we all meet up for T Stands for Tuesday.  We just share a drink related post on our blogs, so if you have a blog and share something related to some kind of drink you can link to our party, too.
Stay warm.
See you next time.

T Stands for Happy Valentine's Day

I will tell you happy Valentine's Day, but will have to show you photos of that meal next week.  This week I will show photos of last week's out to eat meal.

We went to Carriage House, in an Amish community in Yoder, Ks.  It was like a mini road trip as it is out of town about an hour away. We were hungry for their wonderful homemade comfort food. I didn't take photos of our actual meal, but of our water for TSFT and of their menu and store.

The bread is honey wheat, I think and so soft, fresh, and warm!  The butter is cinnamon butter.  So good! Yum!  This is my ticket to TSFT over at Altered Book Lover with Bleubeard & Elizabeth.

The front of their menu; I was amazed that this restaurant had only been around since 1994.

This tells you about Yoder.  We usually see buggies on the road in the town or in the parking lot, but we didn't see any this time.

My husband had the smoked sausage, (something they are famous for), and I had the roast turkey.  Then, I was totally bad and got fried sweet potatoes!  Oh, my goodness!

I loved the old photos on their walls and on their menu.

Then we brought home this cinnamon roll.  I compared it to a pie shell so you could see how big one cinnamon roll was.  We had that for breakfast the next day.

And since I love sunflowers, I had to take photos of their sunflowers displays.

I walked today as it was a gorgeous day of over 60!

I met this doggy named Poppy.  She is a Great Pyrenees.  First one of that breed that I have met on the trail.

And there were hearts on the trail!

I leave you with this card.  This is one I made for our granddaughter and sent in a package with goodies for Valentine's Day.

Have a great week.  Thank you for stopping by.  A special shout out to the T gang!  See you next time.

T Stands for Happy Valentines DAy!

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  It is always special to us, because my husband proposed on Valentine's Day.  And that would be 56 years ago, because we have been married 55 years.

Here is a sweet Valentine I made for my husband, and I am also entering it in the Try it on Tuesday Challenge for All Loved Up.

Th image is a Free Graphic Fairy image.  I really liked it and thought it perfect for my honey! I embossed the chocolate chip panel with Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss embossing folder and layered a scrap of SU! designer paper on it, and added some $tree lace and then layered the image on that.  So, I don't know if it needed anything else but decided since I had these hearts die cut already, I would add them.  They are cut out of some textured leather looking dark red.  So, I thought this card was full of love.

Isn't that vintage Valentine image great?

Also, today I will show you how my trail looks for Valentine's Day.  I took these before our snow.

I took these after our snow, and the trail was snowy, and the water was frozen.

Thank you for all stopping by to celebrate Valentine's Day, All About Love at Try it on Tuesday, and T Stands for Tuesday over at Bleubeard's & Elizbeth's at Altered Book Lover.

Have a fabulous week.

T Stands For Tea At Sea

Psalms 37:4-5 "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."

Greetings to those out in Blogland!  It is that time again when the T Gang link up over at Bleubeard & Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover for T Stands For Tuesday!  Besides sharing a drink, we share photos and artwork.  So come a long and join us!  Just click on the link above and you will see Elizabeth's post and links to all the T Gang.  You could joins us, too, if you want!  Just be sure you share a drink related item in your post.

My husband always does Valentine's Day in a big way because he proposed to me on Valentine's Day.  He usually plans something really special, this year, it was the Hawaiian Cruise.  He proposed 53 years ago, and we will celebrate 53 years of marriage in September.  Yep, I do think he is a keeper!
We were on the ship at sea on Valentine's Day.  This is our dessert, and all the ladies got a special one.

Tea at Sea

This cake was outside the Dining room as we entered.

The celebration as hundreds of us re-did our wedding vows in celebration of Valentine's Day.  The captain officiated.  Valentine's Day was really special on this cruise!
The above card I took on the cruise to give to my husband.   I can't remember if I made it or not.  It was in my stash of cards and might have come to me in a swap!  Sorry, that if someone else made it and I can't remember who!

Thank you for stopping by and for all your comments and input.  Happy T Day!

T for Tags, Tea Cups, and Tea!

Rejoice in the
Lord alway:
and again I say,
Rejoice.
Phil 4:4

Today, I have deviated from teapots temporarily!   I will show you my teacups, well, mine and my late mother's.  But first a story.  My mother collected tea cups and  they were on display above top of her cabinets. I have them now plus the ones  I collected. When our daughter would come home at Christmas with her children, we would have over her best friend with her children.  We would have our Christmas tea.  It was my custom to let each child pick a teacup and a teapot for their tea.  I have lots of photos scrapped over the years of this, but can't share them, because I don't know how to blur out the their faces.  Anyway, since we are downsizing I came up with this idea to share my cups with my Bible study group for Valentines.  I  photographed them with the candy and wrapping and attached tags or bookmarks. I included on the back a verse from our Philippians Bible study and that they are from me and my mother.

These are the cups all filled, wrapped and tagged.
Teacups before wrapping. Although there are 19 teacups wrapped some of them were pairs or even four of one of them.
I wanted you to see the saucer of the one because it was so unique.

I used a SU! punch to punch the tops of the tags, and Spellbinders heart dies.  I also used embossing folders to make texture on the hearts before die cutting them.  The smallest hearts are the punch outs of a border punch.  I always save them.  That was fun gluing them on!  The dsp and cs was from my stash, as well as the white grosgrain ribbon. The Happy Valentines Day is from SU! Teeny Tiny Greetings.  I am linking my tags with Try it on Tuesday: Love is in the air.
And this is my beverage tonight as I do my blog post.  I know, hilarious, right?  I am drinking out of a mug! LOL
This is for T Stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover.
Thank you for checking out my blog today. Have a great Tuesday!
