T Stands for TSFT Again, Already?

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV

I do not know how Monday afternoon gets here so quickly!  It is time to visit Bleubeard & Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover for her weekly T party! TSFT  We each do a drink related post and join her, and visit each other!  It is always fun to see what each other are drinking and what we are doing.

We just got back from going out to eat as I write this.  I remembered to take photos! Shocking, I know!  Elizabeth will enjoy the drinks and the signs, but not the food. But pulled pork is one of our favorite comfort foods.  At this locally owned Hog Wild, we can order a drink, a sandwich & a side for $5.99 each.  So, it is very economical, also.  My husband gets fries with his, and I get the cole slaw with mine.  We then each top our pulled pork sandwich with  cole slaw and it becomes a Carolina Pulled pork.  We share the fries.  When we leave, we refill our drinks to take with us.  Mine was unsweetened iced tea, and his was coke.

And while we were eating, we read the signs along the ceiling.

I can't leave you without posting at least one craft project.  I did several over the weekend, but here is a clean and simple birthday card for today's Clean and Simple Challenge on SplitcoastStampers to have something on your card that leaps.

The stamp is Art Impressions stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento on SU! Whisper White.  I colored it with Copics, and put Spectrim Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle on the baloon and the confetti.  I mounted on SU! Glorious Green then on 110 lb Recollections.  I had die cut the image and green panel with Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics B, a die set I got many, many, many years ago at a stamp show for 1/2 price.  I have gotten so much use out of that one set!

Short and sweet today.  I hope you all are doing great and have a wonderful week!  Thanks for stopping by.  Happy T Day!

What's On Your Desk? Wednesday

It is time for us to share what is on our desks over at Miss Julia's Stamping Ground for WOYWW.

I have been making a House Mouse card for House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge-Anything Goes.

As you can see, I stamped the House Mouse image of "Signing a Card -Muzzy."  I then colored with Copics.  I backed the image with red and cut out with my pinking shears to look like a postage stamp.  I ran my base through with an embossing folder then mounted the red panel with the image.  You see all of my tools and mess from making this card right there on my desk.  A few other things which I am not sure why they are out. LOL

So, here is the finished product.

Not only is this an entry in the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge, it is also my submission for the VSN Mini One Word Blank challenge, and the CAS Challenge for no sentiment, both over at SplitcoastStampers.

I hope you check out the other deskers and these challenges.  Very fun to see what others are doing and to get inspiration.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a great week!

T Stands for Terrific Weekend!

I did have a terrific weekend! I took part in the four-day Card Maker Success Summit!  A friend had sent me the info, and link to sign up for it.  Then, every morning I received an email for watching videos at certain times, and live stream presentations from people like Ellen Hutson.  I learned new alcohol ink techniques, and was reminded of techniques I had forgotten, like stacking die cut sentiments for depth.  I got freebies, like color charts, or handouts from the hostesses' with the measurements to make cards such as shaker cards or pop-up cards and slider cards. I saw new to me demonstrators such as Daniel West.  He demonstrated Copic techniques. I did all of this from home, sometimes in my pjs!  LOL This was my first summit.  I am already planning on the next one July 28thru the 31st!  Did I say it was free?  And did I say they drew for over 100 giveaways?

Here are a couple of the cards I made while watching a demonstrator.

For this card I used a technique I learned from watching Tiffany Solorio.  I applied drops of alcohol ink and 91 % isopropyl alcohol to a yupo panel.  After it dried, I ran it through with the SU! embossing panel, then sanded the color off the raised parts.  I just added a flower die cut to finish the card.  This is being submitted for the Flowers VSN Challenge on Splitcoaststampers, which was this weekend, also.

This is a card I made by blending Distress inks with a brush, and then spritzed with drops of water and after dry, spritzed with Shimmer.

I didn't want to cover the background up too much, but went with this House Mouse panel I had colored.  this card is being submitted for our VSN Rainbow Challenge on Splitcoaststampers, also.  This is also being submitted for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge, anything goes.   Check these challenges out.

So, it was a busy weekend!  But fun!

My ticket for today's TSFT (over at Altered Book Lover with Bleubeard & Elizabeth), will be a photo from Valentine's night.   We had a delightful time at a Sweetheart Dinner.

I don't know why, but with this formal dinner, they served my hot herbal tea in a Styrofoam cup. LOL We had a great dinner, grilled filet topped with stuffed mushrooms, twice baked potatoes, and mixed vegetable medley.  I had already eaten the mushroom and vegetables, before I remembered to take the photo.  For dessert we had Crème Brulee.  It was a great evening with great companions. And, can you see the roses on the table?

Today we had 70s for our temperature, so I was able to walk on the trail.

Crazy weather, snow on the ground and 70s.  Tomorrow we start a week of cold, tomorrow 31, and Wednesday highs in the 20s!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful crafty week!

Hello fellow deskers!  What is on your workdesk today?  I will show you mine, then I will hop over to Julia's at Stamping Ground and see what is on hers, then visit each of you.  This is how my desk looked as I Zoomed with friend Rebekah.  We decided while she made cards and I scrapped that we would join Julia for What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday.

This is the Layout I did to make this mess!  I am submitting this two page layout to Art Journal Journey where Bleubeard and Elizabeth hosting this month and have the theme What's Your Style?  My style is scrapping.  I find it fun to use paper that does a lot of work for you, as this paper.  Also, I like using items from my stash, which are mostly years old as this paper.  The paper is even from two different companies.  The page on the left is My Mind's Eye, the one on the right is Simple Stories.  I used Jolees music stickers, Hobby Lobby stickers and Recollections die cuts. I added ribbon and bells charm from SU!  Again, all of this has been in my stash for a very long time!  What is my style?  Usually computer-generated journaling is my style, as I don't like my writing.

Merry & Bright

T Stands for Happy Valentines DAy!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  It is always special to us, because my husband proposed on Valentine's Day.  And that would be 56 years ago, because we have been married 55 years.

Here is a sweet Valentine I made for my husband, and I am also entering it in the Try it on Tuesday Challenge for All Loved Up.

Th image is a Free Graphic Fairy image.  I really liked it and thought it perfect for my honey! I embossed the chocolate chip panel with Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss embossing folder and layered a scrap of SU! designer paper on it, and added some $tree lace and then layered the image on that.  So, I don't know if it needed anything else but decided since I had these hearts die cut already, I would add them.  They are cut out of some textured leather looking dark red.  So, I thought this card was full of love.

Isn't that vintage Valentine image great?

Also, today I will show you how my trail looks for Valentine's Day.  I took these before our snow.

I took these after our snow, and the trail was snowy, and the water was frozen.

Thank you for all stopping by to celebrate Valentine's Day, All About Love at Try it on Tuesday, and T Stands for Tuesday over at Bleubeard's & Elizbeth's at Altered Book Lover.

Have a fabulous week.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

A verse to think on: "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened: that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints."  Ephesians 1:17-18

I will be joining Stamping Ground for WOYWW  again today.  I joined last week for the first time in several years and had a very warm welcome from everyone.  It had been so long that forgot that when I comment I should leave my number!  Today, I will remember to do that.  What do we do for What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday?  We show our desks, link over at Stamping Ground, and then visit each other to see what everyone is doing.

Therefore, here is my desk:

On my desk are kits I made up for a card making class that I lead at a senior's facility.  The kits are for Valentine's Day and a birthday card.  I die cut the pieces, and embossed the panels, and they put them together. I take my stamping platform so they could easily stamp the sentiments.  I also take punches so they can punch the sentiments out.

Here is the Valentine card:

Thanks for stopping by.  I look forward to see what you are doing.

T Stands For Scrapping

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  Colossians 3:16

Hello!  The snow from last week is slowing melting.  But it is still nice to be inside crafting, so I have been scrapping.  I scrapped a page of my birthday flowers as they were so pretty.

I used Downton Abbey paper, as I just recently discovered it in one of my plastic drawers.  Yes, I had forgotten all about it.  I stamped flowers and heat embossed them and then water colored with TH Oxide inks, and fussy cut them to add to my page.  I die cut some banners for the side, I also thought that it needed some added purple like in the photo, so added some prima flowers with purple rhinestones. The title & journaling is computer generated.  The sentiment in the circle is the card that came with the flowers.

I used SU Bander dies, TH oxides and Ranger Rainbow Sparkle embossing powder

I am entering this at Art Journal Journey for Just My Style.  Stamping, heat embossing, watercolor, and scrapping are my style.  Once someone said no scrapbook pages; then I think Elizabeth said a scrap page was in a way art journaling.  Let me know if it isn't.

12x12 finished page

close up of flower I heat embossed, then water colored & fussy cut.  The Downton Abbey paper was embossed, too.

Love that sentiment!

close up of all the different papers I used.

Also, I am linking up with Bleubeard & Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover for our TSFT party.  So, I must post something drink related for my entry to the party.  I wasnt prepared for that today, so I will share an older photo I made in 2014, and which is long ago sent to someone. Hope you like it.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Happy T Day to the T Gang.  Everyone, stay warm!

A Second Look at Feb 11, 2014

A verse to think on: "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened: that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints."  Ephesians 1:17-18

I wanted to share a second look today and join Elizabeth at Altered Book Lover for her 2nd on the 2nd.  I decided to go back to early February 2014 to share.  Now, after looking at this, I know why I have so many stamp sets!  But I haven't been buying any new ones for a couple of years, and also, I have been trying to hone down my collection! LOL It is interesting, also that I mention in this 2nd look what it is like outside.  Although, I do not have the snowy photo any longer on my header, I know it used to be.  And that is what it looks like outside today, too.  It is blowing snow outside as I type this.  And since it is a picture of my desk, although old, and Wednesday I will join WOYWW. What is on your Workdesk Wednesday.

Here is my 2nd look:

I received something fun this week!  My Stampin' Up order arrived, and I have been playing with it!  I saved up all year for Su! Sell-A-Bration sale.   So that is what is on my desk.  I have already opened and used two of the stamp sets and also the set of framelets. So new stuff really does inspire you to craft! :)  So, I am an enabler! Go get new stuff!  LOL
Anyway, this week finds me crafting!  Especially, since outside we got 8 inches of snow today, and it is rather cold out.  So what else is there to do?  Oh, I did help my husband shovel snow for a few minutes. :)  My background photo is pretty much what it looks like here today! Pretty, but everything is shut down.

For more information about What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday visit Julia's Stamping ground.

The card on the left was made using Su! Hostess set Nature's Hello along with the Big Shot Die Framelets Backyard Basics and Secret Garden.  I made the background panel using the Glitter Highlighting Embossing Technique.  Here is a link to a tutorial for that technique.  I used a rhinestone for the bird's eye, and Stampendous Dot Sparklers on the butterfly.   I made that card for Challenges S2S14D, A2S14C, and AOCC2014 on SCS.
The card on the right was made using Night of Navy and Marina Mist cardstock.  I used Denim embossing Powder and VersaMark ink on the image from Stampin' Up set, Tea Party.  The DP is from SU! Regals Print Pack.   The ribbon is probably SU!, but not sure as it was in my stash. :)  That was made for Challenges S2S14D, S2S14E, and AOCC2014 on SCS.

Thanks for looking and stopping by my Blog to see what I am doing.  Thanks for your comments, too, always appreciated!  I am off to see what is on your desks. Happy WOYWW!

Thanks for taking this 2nd look with me.  Thanks for stopping by.  I enjoyed our visit.
Happy Groundhog day! :)
