T Stands for Touring Day

   Delight thyself also in the LORD;

and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the LORD;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4-5

By touring, I mean running around all over the city, not really, just downtown, where I normally do not go.  It is our last day before a snowstorm, and then another behind it, too.  I took advantage of the day and I met a friend for a brunch of soup and homemade cinnamon roll, no photos.  We then went to three places I wanted to go to for shopping for a Valentine gift.  First, I stopped and took a couple of photos of two more Keepers replicas to add to my collection.

One was right outside the diner where we ate, and the other was around the corner in front of a bank.  I think there must be a couple hundred of these replicas of our Keeper of the Plains around Wichita. I linked you to the Wikipedia that tells you about our Keeper if you didn't know about it.

After I got my photos, my friend and I headed to Spice Merchant.  Elizabeth has been talking about this for ages, so I wanted to see for myself.  My friend got some coffee for her grandson, and I found a mug for me, my Valentine's gift to myself.  My favorite one cracked last week when I poured hot water into it.  I had used it for several years; don't know why it finally did this.  Anyway, I looked for the one that said Foxy that Elizabeth saw and photographed, but the clerk couldn't find it for me.  So, I got this one.  It is dishwasher safe and microwavable.

They had added the extra room as a teashop since I had been there many years before.  I don't know where the photos went that I took of the entry way into the teashop but can't find them.  These mugs were out in the main part of the shop.

But inside the teashop near the windows, they had these stained-glass windows with the China imbedded in them.  I thought they were pretty neat.

Next, we headed to Cocoa Dolce Chocolatier, and I forgot to take photos. They make upscale chocolate, and I was able to pick up a small gift.

Next, we headed to The Nifty Nut House and found more tasty stuff!  I did take a photo of the entrance:

It is huge and they have every kind of chocolate and candy you can think of to buy by the pound or half pound.

By now, my friend was tired, so I took her back to her car at the diner.  Then I went into a bookstore there.  Oh, my goodness, they had lots of goodies.  I found some items, but when I looked at the price put them back! LOL Nothing, I needed anyway.  I took one photo in the bookstore. For our dog and cat lovers, I noticed these.

Finally, after a stop at the post office, I got home to a package: it was a prize I won. It was a surprise as I didn't know what I won.  I happen to like 49 and Market and there were several items from them.  The 12 by 12 pad of Spring paper has 40 double sided sheets of premium quality paper.  I know I will like at least one side of each. Pretty nice prize.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure and stop at Altered Book Lover and see Elizabeth.  It is our once-a-week tea party or TSFT.

T Stands for Patriotism

 1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1

Good evening!  It is time for TSFT, and we post early because it is already Tuesday over the pond.  Tomorrow, we celebrate the 4th of July or our Independence Day in the USA. On that note, I thought I would share some patriotism from my neighborhood.  As you all know, sometimes on the trails I walk they decorate them for the different seasons and holidays, so I thought I would share a few photos. The didn't go overboard, but here are a few.

Because this replica of a Keeper of the Plains looks patriotic, I am including photos of it.  This one is at Cambridge Market right in front of one of our favorite diners, Livingstons.

As Elizabeth explained these replicas were commissioned to celebrate Wichita's 150th anniversary, I believe.  I now have a complete list and plan to find and photograph all of them.  So far I have visited and photographed this one and the one at Cozine Memorial Group, which I previously posted on my blog.

Parting shots:

And for our TSFT ticket over at Altered Book Lover:

I wish all in the U.S. a happy and safe 4th.

Thank you for stopping by.  I love reading your comments and visiting your blogs.  It is so fun to get to know bloggers from all over the world as we visit each other.

T Stands for Time to Organize Craft Room

  8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

I watched videos this week-end put on by the Papercrafters Get Organized Summit.  It inspired me to re-organize my craft room and purge a little.  There were lots of ideas on how to organize, but mostly it just inspired me to do it! I did that instead of crafting or doing a blog post.  I even did a little house cleaning!  It will take a while to really get it completely re-organized.   So, no photos until I get it done.

Even though I do not have photos of my craft room, but I do have photos of my walk on Friday, the 21st.  I didn't go on Trail Day, as I was concerned that the trail would have too much traffic of walkers and bikers.   Friday I got off the trail and walked a little further to see come different scenery.

Wichita's most iconic symbol is The Keeper of the Plains.  There are many 10-foot replicas of it all over Wichita.  I found one on my walk!  I don't know if they are all like this one or not, but this one has artwork all over it.  I tried to get a few close ups of the artwork on the art. :)

Below the keeper has a keeper on it.

Below is a depiction to symbolize the aircraft industry in Wichita.

And we went out today for fast food, but so good!  We don't do this too often; in fact this was first time this year!  We had a coupon for 2 meals for $9.99.  Roast beef sandwiches, curly fries and root beer with refill to go. :)  We love all the sauces: Arby Sauce, Horsy Sauce, Pepper sauce & Honey Mustard sauce for our sandwiches and fries.  The curly fries are wonderful when they are hot.  And today, they did them fresh for us so they were hot!  We didn't need anything the rest of the day!  Very filling!

Here is a card using one of the Klompen Stampers fun folds that I learned. This fold works well for displaying the card.  I made this for a man at our church who has a birthday this week but also is very ill.  Also, I made it for our Alpha Challenge on SplitcoastsStamers for the Alpha Toy Round for T for Train.

Thank you for stopping by.  Nice to see and hear from the T Gang.  I am linking up with Bleubeard & Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover for the TSFT.  We all post something drink related in our post and all get together once a week; Monday night/Tuesday.  Happy T Day to the T Gang.  Hello to all my readers and again thank you for visiting.

  See you next time.
