T Stands for Tea

"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,"  Philippians 1:3

Happy Tuesday!  I am a little late to our tea party!  I wanted to finish a journal layout for Art  Journal Journey for Chris's August Hot Summer (Nights and Days) challenge.  I am still working in my Smash book and using leftover photos from my scrapbooking.  These are Summertime photos from different years. Besides leftover photos, I used leftovers from a Simple Stories kit that I got at a scrap retreat in K.C. Mo. in 2018!  The journaling was printed off with my label maker.  After everything was down, I covered the photos, and spattered with Mango Lemonade Memories Mists.  I kid you not, that is the name!  That could be my ticket to the TSFT, couldn't it?  It is a drink related reference....  but, see below, as I have a more normal ticket.

This is also for a Splitcoaststampers "Summer Fun" Clean and Simple Challenge and for the Art Journal Art Journal Sketch Challenge on A Cherry on Top, (ACOT)

Here is my ticket to TSFT over at Altered Book Lover:  This card is for the Alpha Challenge on Splitcoststampers. The letter this week is F for furniture.  These were gifted dies, so I am excited that I could actually use them!  I layered the scene on a heart embossed panel, another gifted item.  I stamped and punched Just for You from Tea Shoppe, an old retired Stampin' Up! set. This is also for a challenge on A Cherry on Top (ACOT) to use some shiny paper and to use at least 5 sequins.  I inked the edges and over the raised hearts with TH faded jeans Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by.  I will see you next time.

T Stands for Sharing Art

 "Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time. She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the people of Israel came up to her for judgment." Judges 4:4-5

I created this Bible Art Journaling page for the Ladies Bible Study I lead every other Tuesday at our church.  Our study this year is Remarkable Women of the Bible by Elizabeth George.  As you might have guessed, our last lesson was on Deborah.  I knew she was one of the judges but hadn't ever really studied her.  It seems not only was she a judge, but she was a wife, and a warrior!  She had to go to war with Barack, or he wouldn't go.  And, after the victory she wrote and sang a song about the victory!  You can read poem, song in Chapter 5 of Judges.  What a remarkable woman to be able to do all of this as reported in the Bible.  We can learn many lessons from reading about Deborah, and the rest of the remarkable women in the Bible.

I was inspired to do this Bible art journaling.  I am sorry to say I cannot find the person's name to give her credit for the images I used.  I had virtually attended a Bible Summit this or last year and they were free.

I thought about this being my entry for the Botanical theme for ART JOURNAL JOURNEY, but wasn't sure if it was enough botanical? :)  So, I just had to play some more and create the art below!  LOL

I had fun playing with alcohol inks and Isopropyl alcohol.  Then I used some TH stamps, and words.

I also used some 49 and Market ephemera.

And here is what happened to the back of the page on which I used:  I almost liked it better!  Oh, well, I will use it next time.

Now it is time to share a photo of a drink for my entry to the party over at Altered Book Lover.  Last week, we went to Red Robin.  We order their smaller version of hamburger with a side.  Our waitress said we could have salad or broccoli, because the fries come with everything regardless.  Otherwise, we might have ordered the fries. It really wasn't on the menu like this, but she explained that was the way it was.  Delicious!  We both got the standard hamburger with the 1000 Island dressing.  The waitress was wonderful, our hamburgers were wonderful and so was the salad.  We hadn't been there in a couple of years.  Oh, and we ordered water with lemon, and she brought us a whole bowl of thickly sliced lemon, might have been the whole lemon!  Oh, and BTW, the sauce that came with the fries was awesome!  I ate fries on my sauce. LOL
Very filling, so won't go there too often!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you next time!  Don't forget to check over at Altered Book Lover and check out the others on the T Stands for Tuesday blog hop party.  It is the 12th anniversary of TSFT!  So big celebration!

T Stands for Tuesday & Art

 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;

and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalms 33:12

I will try to do another TSFT post!  Doctor appointments and physical therapy take up a lot of time, and Tuesday is also Bible study day.  So, I am scheduling a post but actually doing it on Sunday afternoon.  That is what I did last week, and it worked pretty well.  I just have to remember to link it to Elizabeth's party at Altered Book Lover.  I also want to link to **Art*Journal*Journey* this week, as I did a journal spread for Hallie's Botanical theme.

This is actually called a Smash Book from K& Co.  I have had it for years and decided to start using it for art journal spreads. The size is about 7 x 10 inches, which is just right.

I used 49 and Market ephemera & rub ons.  My photos are printed off of social media of our grandson.  I just thought they were so cute and had to be used somewhere.  I thought this concept worked better than traditional scrapbooking.  I used an art journal sketch off of ACOT, with theme of rectangles, Challenge #31.

Here is my ticket for TSFT:

We love their fries!  My husband gets the double steakburger, but I like the Patty melt, which is on rye.  It is so good, and I am sure none of this is healthy.  But this is a place we only got to about twice a year at most!

I took a photo of a photo hanging up in the establishment.  So cool.

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay cool.  See you next time.

Man on the Moon

   Create in me a clean heart, O God;

and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;
and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Psalms 51:10-13

These are Bible verses I try to pray each day.

I have decided to do a blog post today!  I know it has been a while, but I do feel I am on the road of recovery!  I am in physical therapy and am gaining my range of motion back.  Next will be strength building.  So, thanks for the prayers and check ins while my blog was on hiatus.

I am doing several challenges with this journal page.  One is the "people challenge" by Matilde on **Art*Journal*Journey.  The other two are challenges on ACOT for the art journal sketch and the In The News Challenge to remember circumstances that you might remember when news happened.  I chose when man walked on the moon, and made One giant step for mankind.  I will always remember it because I was pregnant with our first child.  And because of that I always remember when it happened!

 It was fun to do this page and remember.  I used old book pages as a base, and then stenciled TCW Sea Glass Stencil butter through a My Favorite Things brick wall stencil.  I printed off the photos from the internet, because it was all on TV just like this.  You can go online and listen and watch it all again.  I used 49 and Market rub ons, Washi tape, and ephemera

Finally, I will join Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover for Tea Stands for Tuesday!
Here is my entry.  We recently ate at Bagatelle's again.  We had wonderful talapia with rice and lemon sauce and the best chicken and rice soup I have ever tasted!  And it seems every time we go they bring us and everyone in the small dining area a complementary desert.  This time it was cheesecake!

.

It is good to be back!  I hope to visit you all and see what you are doing this week.  Thanks for stopping by and welcoming me back!  See you next time.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

 Create in me a clean heart, O God;

and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;
and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Psalms 51:10-13

These are Bible verses I try to pray each day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  We really don't celebrate, but this year we were invited to a St. Patrick's Day event at a senior living facility last week.  We were given coins with our assigned number and a piece of paper with the names of places we were to visit, like the library, model apartment, movie theatre, cafe, fitness room, etc.  At each place spread over three stories, we got our paper stamped, deposited our coin and ate a snack.  At one place, we had guitar music and tall green drinks with fancy straws which we got to keep.  The drink was a flavor of Hawaiian punch mixed with Sprite.  The idea was for us to see all these places in their facility, in hopes we would pay them a lot of money and move into it!  Also, they would draw coins out for prizes.  We weren't called, so I guess we didn't win.  They also had a photo op where they took our photos with a lady dressed all in green.  I haven't got that photo yet, and I didn't take one with my phone. :(

I took one photo at the event but first here is one of the fancy straws because you really don't see them that well in the next photo.

And the drinks were really green, just doesn't show well here, no matter how I tried to fix the color.  This is also my ticket to Bleubeard & Elizabeth's TSFT over at Altered Book Lover.

This particular food was some kind of potato pancake.  Other food was fruit, like berries and grapes.  In the theatre they served a tiny cheesecake thing, and we were there too early for some kind of chicken thing.  The food wasn't all that impressive.  We did get a gold coin that when opened was chocolate.  I couldn't figure out how to open it, and decided it really wasn't anything to eat, but hubby broke it and there was chocolate in it. :)

Today I also am showing a journal page I did for Art Journal Journey, CalvinBall and ACOT Art Journal Sketch challenge.

For AJJ the theme was Home Sweet Home, and on the right side of the page I show that I am thankful for my home sweet home and that it is my happy place, and I do count it as one of my blessings.
I used the 2page sketch as given on A Cherry on Top. For Calvin Ball I think I got 34 points.  Again, the points are just for fun and inspiration.

Points: 2 pages, star, date, real or faux stitching, frame, heart, polka dot, stripes, sketch, handwriting, film strip, hexagon, circle, grid, coffee or tea, stamp, pink, flower, fussy cut, splatter, butterfly, banner, bling, 2 social media shares, 2 blogs., among other items!  We have over 100 items to choose from for points, and we can double dip which means, the circle with stitched die counts two points, for stitching and for being a circle, except on "no double dipping day".

For the background on my pages, I played with some new Distress Mica Sprays from Tim Holz.  I had picked them up at JoAnn's which is closing.  They were only 20% off though.  I am sorry they are closing, but I sure didn't think they were having much of a sale, and everything was about gone in the store where I was.

All of the items were just in my stash.  So, I just used what I had already cut and stamped.  The top stamp is Paula Best, and I don't even have it anymore, but found it in a container with pre stamped and cut images. I love using up stuff that I didn't want to toss but saved!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure and check out the links above for inspiration.
See you next time.

Snow

4 Delight thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4-5

 I will try to commit next year to the Lord about everything including whether or not I post, or how often.  However, I thought I have been on sabbatical from Blogging long enough, so I will end the year with one last post.  I have decided to join in at **Art*Journal*Journey for Sharon's (Sharon from That Girl Friday Fritchey) Snow Challenge for January. This made me get out an old stencil that I haven't used in years.  I stenciled with Blueprint Sketch Oxide Distress ink over a Aspen Trees stencil.  I spattered with White India Ink and used a Uniquely Creative clear Sparkle Brush for the glittery look of ice.  I die cut and stamped the deer from a very old Fun Stampers Journey set.  They are not even in business anymore.  The snowflake dies are an unknown source, but I die cut from silver.  I added gems, Nuvo drops and Washi tape for interest, and just to use stash!  I did this in my 7x10 Canson XL Mix Media book.  98 lb paper.  My stencil is only 6x6. so had to move it to fill the page.  As you can see, it isn't really lined up, but oh, well.  I am just playing with all my stuff! LOL

Maybe a closer view will show the glittery trees:

Here is my ticket to the tea party over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's at Altered Book Lover.  I have missed so many, they may not know who I am.  I prepared this little hot chocolate station next to my tea station for when our family were here.  We all enjoyed it; in fact, I am still enjoying it.  Who knew that mini chocolate chips, mini-marshmallows and candy canes could make something so good ever better?

Well, I hope you all had a blessed Christmas, and I wish you Happy New Year.  Who know what it will bring?  Maybe I will see you next year.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today & Anything Goes

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”  Philippians 4:8

 Hello, I am still here!  I had a great morning today because it finally cooled down and I was able to go walking!  I decided to join in with TSFT and with Aimeslee's Anything Goes Challenge over at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY*.    I did this page inspired by her challenge, my walk and using prompts from my Mixed Media Joy Challenge over at SplitcoastStampers.

Use 3 or more of the following:
Napkin
Recycled household item
Blue or teal
sequins
Book page
Washi
Suggested Technique: anything using water

I did a page in my 7x10 art journal today. I water colored the base with different colors and some scribbling. Then I added washi (the stamps & the today and leaf), napkin, and book page. Then stamped birds, date, and some journaling that inspired my page. I wish my napkin had been woodsy but was I matching the color. I was just having fun, so doesn't matter, anything goes!

I almost forgot (because it has been so long!)  that I need a drink reference of some kind in order to join TSFT with Bleubeard & Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover.  So, here is my favorite to go mug.  I will be taking it with me this weekend to a Ladies Bible Conference Retreat.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

T Stands for Time in my Craft Room

   6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

I have been in my craft room for quite a while today to make this art journal page for **Art*Journal*Journey* for Chris's Where in the World Challenge this month.  I do not plan out my projects I just start in.  I had found this old ephemera from our 25th anniversary trip to Paris and went from there. I liked these colors of color bursts and prepared my background.  I sprinkled the Canson 7x10" Mix media paper with my powders, too many, and then spritzed with water.  I had a miss!  Then I daubed with a paper towel.  Then I didn't know what I was going to do besides putting on the little map actually of our boat trip on the Seine.  I got the idea then to put what the occasion was with the die cut words and a stamped remember.  I put on the scraps that I tore off, only used the other side.  I put a rub-on in the top left corner and the today's date in the bottom right corner.  I did some inking of the edges.  I think that is about it.  Oh, I added fiber!  I enjoyed the process. And I used my colors!

The rub on IRL is black, don't know why it shows white in the photo.

Anyone read French?

This will be a fun way to remember.  The photos in my album are old school, not digital, so not on my computer.  It would have been nice to print some off to put on here, or just to show them to you at this point.  Maybe someday, will take photos of the photos and put them on here.

It is time to share a drink for TSFT over at Altered Book Lover with Bleubeard & Elizabeth.  They are our hosts for this tea party.  This is from my archives.

Happy T Day to the T Gang!  Have a great week!  See you next time!

T Stands for Doing What I Love

 "Praise the Lord.  Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good:  his love endures forever." Ps. 106:1

Hello Readers & T-Gang! I have been watching videos of free lessons they gave away on the Planner Summit that I subscribed to last week.  Lots of inspiration!  Of course, they want to sell you stuff, but I just get the free items they offer, and lots of inspiration!  I even got a lesson and print offs for making a prayer journal, so have started that.  So much to do and so little time! LOL

 I do love playing in my craft room, and today that is what I did.  I played with inks and stencils and finished up a journal page for the **Art*Journal*Journey* All about the Numbers Challenge this month.  I started the page at Elizabeth's a couple of weeks ago.  I used her background technique of Stazon ink drops in alcohol.  Then I used oxide inks through stencils.  I did a little stamping, added a Tim Holtz quote and a leftover scrapbook photo I had.

Although I did get up and walk at 6:30 to 8:00 this morning, I didn't take any photos, but have some from the first part of June.

A selfie shadow photo.

Sunrise

And, now my ticket to TSFT over at Bleubeard & Elizabeth's.  It is a photo I took of the huge strawberry on my plate at a recent retirement party at our church.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful week!  See you next time!

T Stands for Tea at Elizabeth's

 "Praise the Lord.  Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good:  his love endures forever." Ps. 106:1

I didn't take any photos!  But I went for a play date at Elizabeth's.  She had some lovely tea for me.  I already forgot the name.  It was a black tea, and it had rose in it's name.  I really liked it! Besides tea, she served me lunch!  She even bought meat for me!  She doesn't eat meat!  So, I had a lovely little lunch on her sunflower plates, and sunflower place mats, with a sunflower napkin.  Of course, I fogot to take photos.

So, here is a photo of the napkin (that I refused to use so I could bring it home with me to use in a future craft project.  LOL  Some of you will understand about that!) along with a photo of her sunflower table off her blog.

We also played with Stazon inks and alcohol.  This is the project I started  that day.  It is a Stazon & alcohol background.  I made several on the 12x12 paper she provided but also did some in my journal and on watercolor card stock.  She invited me to play with numbers for the **Art*Journal*Journey* Challenge.  I had taken some oxide inks and stencils and used them on this page also by stamping, and using sponge brushes thru the stencils.  Today, I finished up the page with some stamping , pasting, and more stenciling with modeling paste.  The faces are Crafty Individuals by Magenta stamps.   I am looking for my style....

Here are photos in Blogger's order, not mine!  The last photo shows the whole page.

Elizabeth and I took time to have a good visit, also.  She is a fabulous hostess.  She does too much work preparing for my visit.

Talking of Elizabeth here is my ticket to the TSFT this week over at Altered Book Lover.

 A couple of weeks ago we went to another Italian restaurant; those are our favorites.  We just like Italian food.  It was Carrabba's.   Here is a photo showing the scrumptious food and my water.  We go around two, so we get the lunch special, and it is our lunch and dinner.  I actually took a lot home and had it around 6 for supper.  This was something called Lunch Trio for $10.99.  I chose for my trio, soup, Italion salad,  & Meatballs & Ricotta .  I can't remember what the soup was called but it was delicious, and it was a bowl not a cup!

Hubby had a cup of soup I think and manicotti, maybe.  I can't remember.  But we ate all our soup and bread, and a little of the other stuff, then took home plenty! LOL We loved the food, and the service!  It was a great experience.  We had been a couple of times, when everything was terrible!  I was glad we tried it again.  Maybe it has different management, now.

Thanks for stopping by.  Welcome to the T Gang!  Have a great week!  See you next time!
