T Stands for Time

 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;

and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalms 33:12

Yes, T stands for Time!  How quickly it passes for example.  I haven't posted since the 4th of July!  I don't know how that happens.  I have done quite a bit this Summer, just not blogging.  I traveled out of state to our granddaughter's wedding and had so much fun.  It was joy to be with young people and our family!  Then we have had family here, and I am lovin' that!  I have made a couple of junk journals this Summer.  I have been reading quite a bit.  Our daughter recommended a new author.  That is always fun to have a new book list!  Oh, and we celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary this month!

So, here is a photo of the cover of a 60-page, 2 signature junk journal I made as a birthday gift for a friend.  I covered a gutted book cover with fabric from an old table cloth.

Inside front cover.

A page inside.

This is the middle between the two signatures.  Left side is a page covered with tissue, and the right is some brail paper.  The digitals are Jule Dear Julie.

Another page, this one covered with napkin.

And the inside of the back cover.

That is some of what I have been doing.  Next is my ticket for TSFT over at Altered Book Lover where  I think Elizabeth will be surprised to see me!

Another one of my favorite mugs from Spice Merchant.

Thanks for stopping by!  I really appreciate hearing from you.  Do you remember me?  Since it has been so long!  I have missed you.

T Stands for Totally done with January Junk Journal!

  Delight thyself also in the LORD;

and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the LORD;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4-5

Yes, I am totally done with this month's Dear Julie Junk Journal Challenge!

It has 60 pages with lots of room for journaling.  The above are a couple of favorite pages.

My ticket from the archives for TSFT. I found this from February our 2018 Hawaiian cruise.

Happy T Day everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!

T Stands for Totally Junk Journaling

 Delight thyself also in the LORD;

and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the LORD;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4-5

I meant to post earlier, but got distracted with this month's Julie, Dear Julie Junk Journal Challenge!  I have been working all day on it.  I am making a completely different kind of junk journal this month.  I am recycling an old 2 ring photo album into a junk journal.  I am really excited about it because it is so different.  It is even smaller than usual.  I made eight of the challenge pages today.

We are to use Julie, Dear Julie's digitals in our journals:

Well, that is what I have been doing!  Now for my ticket to TSFT over at Altered Book Lover, where Bleubeard and Elizabeth host a blog hop every Tuesday.  T stands for Tuesday.  Get it?  All you have to do to join the hop is have a drink reference in your blog post.  Oh, and I know it is Monday here in the states, but it is Tuesday for a lot of our bloggers in other countries.  Feel free to join or to blog hop and see what they all are doing.

Back to my ticket: It did warm up to almost 40 a couple of days this past week.  We took advantage and ventured out to eat at one of our favorite comfort food diners for comfort food!  So good!  We didn't have to eat but one meal that day. LOL

I appreciate your visit.  Please let me know you were here.  I hope you all have a wonderful week.  We are in the deep freeze again with our temps, and we even had snow flurries again today.  Our other snow is still here.   So, my parting words are STAY WARM!

Getting Ready for NSD

Philippians 1:3 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,"

 For those that don't know May 4th is National Scrapbooking Day, celebrated every year the first Saturday in May.  This year you notice it is also on Star Wars Day: "May the 4th be with you."  I celebrate National Scrapbooking Day, though while our grandchildren may celebrate the other.  I have been preparing by putting away all my junk journal supplies, and cleaning my desk, so I can now be in scrap mode instead of junk mode.

Below is the finished Julie, Dear Julie April Challenge journal.  It is actually two journals.  The topper or cover to the journal is a stacked journal with a tie.

And here is my desk after putting all the "junk" away.

I am ready to begin scrapbooking!  Oh, and there is my tea for my ticket to Bleubeard & Elizabeth's T Stands for Tuesday party over at Altered Book Lover.  Get yourself a beverage and come join us.

I can't leave without showing you some cards I made for my Challenge Your Stash Challenge this month at SplitcoastStampers.  My challenge was to use ignored DSP for one or more cards.  I love to follow Crafty Al's Sheetload of Cards sketches, because you get more than one card, and all different.  This sketch was a revisit of August 2020, and she just made it for 3 cards.  This is how mine turned out.

This designer paper series was actually a 6x6 collection, "Memories & More", Flowers for Every Season from Stampin' Up.  I used three sheets of 6x6 and cut according to the directions, then put it together, and each card turns out different.  I used also used a Stampin' Up die and stamp for the sentiments.  This paper has been in my stash for years!  Our motto for our challenge is "hoarders no more".  The object of the challenge is to use up your stash.  BTW that was why I started junk journaling, to use up stash and scraps, but it seems, I am just making more scraps and stash!  What about you?  If you are a paper crafter, how do you cope with your growing collection of products, paper and miscellaneous items?  Do you purge, regularly, or does it just keep growing?  I watched a Craft Organization Summit recently on dealing with all our "stuff".  It did inspire me or re-organize, somewhat.  At least I found some treasures, I forgot I had!

Thanks for stopping by.  Please let me know you were here.  I love reading your comments. See you next time!

Almost TSFT!

Philippians 1:3 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,"

I have been really lazy about posting to my Blog lately.  It just seems like so much other stuff is going on, you know, like life! LOL   However, I thought I would try to post today.  Since I posted last time, I have been to a week-long junk journaling retreat where I met some wonderful ladies from all over the country.  Many of the ladies were taking part in the challenges with Julie, Dear Julie.  In fact, she was there also.  Most of us follow Julie on her You Tube channel. We had so much fun and swapped junk.  I didn't think to take a photo of everything I brought home or of the 4 boxes I took to give away.  But just now, I got some out some so you could see maybe an 8th of what I brought home.  And below is a hand sewn journal that one of the retreat planners gifted each one of us.  Each one was different, too.  I loved this fabric and the button / key closure.  Inside are wonderful paper pages.  She left undecorated so we could use it for writing or decorate ourselves as we like.  The binding is an elastic chord, so we can put more pages in or use again.  Just lovely; she made over 20 of them for us.

Below are a few things of my haul from the retreat.  One lady had rolled up the prettiest fabric rolls for each of us.  Another gifted us hand painted and dyed pages.  Beautiful!  I came home with wallpaper, fabric, ledger papers and so much more for my future junk journaling projects.  Everyone was so gracious and generous at the retreat.  Most of all our wonderful hostess was so gracious opening her home to all of us.

Among the items I took were Kansas post cards from Elizabeth for each one of them.  BTW Happy Birthday to Elizabeth our hostess with the mostess!  Here is a link over to the TSFT / birthday party over at Altered Book lover!

Besides the retreat my hubby and I did another painting class!  And in one of the photos below is my ticket to the party; blueberry water.

The man below is an artist from the Art Park.  He told us how to draw and paint a sunflower. My husband said he never saw a purple sunflower, but that is how we did it.

Last week was our kickoff brunch at church for our Bible Study.  I sewed together 25 journals so they could take notes or write down prayer requests.  I took them to the retreat to work on while I was there.  When the ladies found out what I was doing, it became everyone's project!  Our lovely hostess made 25 rosettes for the covers.  Two ladies made 25 pockets each for the journals so they could each have pockets on the inside both front and back.  A couple of the ladies made tags.  Several made fancy paper clips for each one.  Another lady was in charge of quality control.  We all worked on them, decorating with stickers, doilies and stamping of Bible verses.  Our Bible Study ladies received them last week and were thankful and so amazed that so many took part in making their journals.   After that I made another 60-page journal for a precious friend at church for her birthday.  Whew!  Yes, I have been busy!
Now, it is time to post this, go over and wish Elizabeth a Happy Birthday, and study my Bible study lesson.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Wishing you all a wonderful day!  See you next time!

T Stands for More Patriotism

 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,

and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalms 100:4-5

Hello everyone!  Welcome!  Just one more week to our big reveal and anniversary party over at Altered Book Lover with Bleubeard & Elizabeth!  Are you ready?  My swap partner and I are ready and have been ready for a month!  We didn't want to miss the big celebration. As our hostess, Elizabeth reminded us last week, it will be our 10th!  So, she said besides some of us doing a swap that we should post something with a 10 on our post, since it is the tenth anniversary of TSFT.  So be thinking what you will do for that.  Just another way to make it special!  Hope you all can come next week.

We finally got some rain!  Thank you, Lord.  We needed it so bad.  Everything was just drying up.  For a whole week, I didn't get much walking in.  I was in my craft room more!  I have been junk journaling.  I am doing the July Challenge with DearJulieJulie on You Tube.  Another thing I have been doing is making samples for our big challenge at SplitcoastStampers.  Once a year we have DTGD, (Dare To Get Dirty).  It  is about 40 special challenges over a week's time for our Fan Club members.  I am one of the hostesses, so am trying to make samples for the other hostesses.  It will go live July 22nd.  Another project that I am working on is our VSBN (Virtual Scrapbook Night) Summer Challenges.  The Summer will go quickly with all of this going on, besides life happening!

I will show you a few of my Junk Journal projects:

We were to make three tags as one of our elements.  We have a choice of bases, for example: Mystery, wrinkled, bubble, envelope, scrap pad, Texture, noisy, map, etc.  For these I used mystery.  Each tag has something hidden.  The first one is a hidden journal card, if you pull the top off; the middle has a waterfall inside if you untie and open it up; the third has a pocket in the side and inside is a little journal booklet.  I also used DJJ's digitals, planner papers, buttons, lace, & postage stamps & trims.  These will go in the journal when finished.

I thought I would show the July decorations that my hair stylist puts up.  She is so good about putting up decorations each month, and so good at it.

Now for my ticket to TSFT.  The only requirement to join T Stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover is to have a beverage reference in your blog post, then you can link to Elizabeth's blog and visit the rest of the t gang all over the globe and see what they are all doing.  We hope you will join us: T Stands For Tuesday.

This is a photo from February 2015 from our trip to Kuai.  We took a Kayak trip and then a hike up to a waterfall, where we stopped and ate a lunch.  I swam in the pool by the waterfall.

Thank you for stopping by! I am thankful for each one of you. I hope you have a great week!  See you next time, dear friends.

T Stands for 'Tis the Season

 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,
good will toward men. Luke 2:9-14

'Tis the season!  And it is busy!  I am sorry I haven't been around, but here is what I have been making this month.

I really enjoyed this challenge from Dearjuliejulie.  Here is the challenge:
LARGE COVER binder ring junk journal! 12 days to build a journal Day 1 - YouTube

To start the season, I went to a class and put together a wreath. Besides, the crafting I have been attending a lot of seasonal events, and decorating, and making Christmas cards, 62 so far, and mailing them and packages, etc.  I also attended a beautiful Cookies and Carols service at our church Sunday night.  A gentleman at our church gives us the history of the carols and we sing them in sets of three.  Besides accompaniment by a piano player, regular organist, keyboardist, one young man played an antique organ. One lady played the saxophone for a couple of the songs.  Then a lady sang "O Holy Night", and we ended singing "Silent Night" by candlelight.

Here is a photo of me with the wreath I decorated:

We will be celebrating more Christmas after Christmas as the weather forecast is for really cold wind chill and maybe snow, so bad for driving.  Our family will come after Christmas.  I wish you all a warm Christmas.

You can check out the other participants if you click on the link.  You could even join us if you post something related to a drink of some sort.
Can you spot mine?  Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate you.

T Stands for Junk Journaling & Catch Up #ntrjjc22

1 "O come, let us sing unto the LORD:
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3 For the LORD is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth:
the strength of the hills is his also.
5 The sea is his, and he made it:
and his hands formed the dry land.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down:
let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
7 For he is our God;
and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand." Psalms 95: 1-7 KJV

 I don't know how the weeks fly by, but they do.  And now it has been several weeks since I last posted on October 24th.  I have even had a birthday since I last posted!  Our son came to visit for a week!  I finished Julie Dear Julie November to Remember Junk Journal Challenge, #ntrjjc22 Our challenge was to do at least 60 pages; I did 64.  We were challenged to make at least 60 different elements, among which should be a flip flop, fabric flip, pockets, double tuck, fluffy tassel, paperclips, tattoos, edges, antique ribbon closures.  We were to use something pink, a daisy, #8, bling, something that flies, a garden object, something to do with the sky.  We could use anything from our stash, plus, junk mail, unfinished embellishment base, large file card, index cards, envelopes, ink & dauber, stamping stenciling, die cuts, x-tra cardstock, torn book pages, and yarn!  We also have to use at least 6 pages of her digitals.

I made this journal for my own use.  It has charts for my weekly SplitcoastStampers challenges as well as a place to keep track of birthday and anniversary dates of friends, family, and church family so I can send cards. It is a 6 month journal December thru May.

Here is the cover:

The cover is from adhesive backed Fabric Paper from my stash.  I got 12x12 sheets of this years ago from Tuesday Morning.  I have covered several journals with it.  The adhesive no longer works so had to use glue anyway,  I glued it to the paper for the inside with the lace in between the layers.

Inside cover and page one:

That is a library pocket decorated with a stamped die cut panel, colored with Copics.  A triple tag with gold ring and lace is the insert.  The first page is one of her Colorful Daisy pages, which by the way is a digital set I won as a prize for doing another month's journal challenge.  If we finish our monthly challenge, we win a digital set of usually 30 to 60 files, and a live party on you tube.

Here is the fabric flip using a seed bag.

Under the flip is a book page pocket and insert.

I wanted to show you the hidden journal card made with and index card. I will use the card to write down January cards I need to send.

Don't worry, I will not show all 64 pages! LOL  But here is the center of the signature, I just did one signature.  I folded the doily over the binding threads and glued it down as a tuck.  Again, Julies beautiful colorful Daisy digitals.

Last one I will show you is one of my favorite pages with the half page tuck.  The insert is a card I got for my birthday.  You can also see some of the edges and tabs in the journal on the right.

Below are photos of one of our 6-mile walks while our son was here.

We pretty much had the trail to ourselves!

We had finally gotten some rain, so there was water in the creek!

I want to join in with Bleubeard & Elizabeth this week at Altered Book Lover for T Stands for Tuesday.  I hope I can come back after being absent for so long!

Here is a drink I got with a gift card for my birthday.  It was a London Fog with Earl Grey tea.  So good!

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy T Day to the T gang.  For those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving.  Be thankful.  I am thankful for all of you.
