Happy New Year! & WOYWW 395

Luke 2;11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord"

I cannot believe we are about to celebrate a new year!  2017, no less!  Ok, I am going to show my age!  I can remember when 1984 was a book about the future! LOL  Or how about the movie, "Space Odyssey 2001"?  hmm!

                                Happy New Year!

Here is my desk and here are the calendar gift sets I made this year.  I have set a goal of 100 layouts this year.  I have about 7 more to do before the 31st to reach that goal! We received so many cards this year!  I had to show off the handmade cards!  If you want to see more about What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, check out Julia's Stamping Ground.

Trying to scrap some older photos.

I did 15 sets of these.

So tickled with all the handmade cards we received!  Love everyone of them!  Thank you!
Thank you for stopping by!  Thank you for your comments!  Again, Happy New Year!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #393 & Four Fold Card

Luke 2;11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord"

Late, I know, but I made it! Short this week!  Showing my desk that is cleaned from the last project waiting for the next one!  Check  out other Bloggers desks at Julia's Stampin Ground. Also, I thought I would share  a project called Four Fold Card.  I followed a You Tube video by Dawns Stamping Thoughts.net.  I normally do not do special folds because I must measure wrong and they never come out right.  But, I really liked this one, so I am showing it off.  So, that is it!  Have a great week!

Wow!  Enjoy this clean desk!  It won't stay that way too long!

This is the result of using a Scor-Pal and watching of Dawn's Video at least  five times!  It is a pretty cool card.  The top photo is the card open and the lower left is the front with the card closed.  Bottom right is just another view of the inside.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

WOYWW #392 plus scrappy time

Luke 2;11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord"

Oh, my goodness, it is Wednesday again!  Just a quick post to show you my desk, because that is what we do on Whats On Your Workdesk? Wednesday.  To see more about this, go to Julia's Stamping Ground!
I have finished my Christmas cards and even have most of them mailed, so I have been scrapping!
First, I will show you a layout I did for my Scraplift Challenge on SplitcoastStampers.  I scraplifted another SlitcoastStamper Scrapper.  Then below are  photos of my workdesk.  One shows all the photos spread out as I work on some more layouts.  You see my big pink adhesive runner.  Can't scrap without that.  In the other desk photo, you see a Stampin' Up! Scrapbooking/Paper Saving Template.  I have forgotten about it and just recently started using it again.  Since you cut out the inside of your 12x12 paper for this, I got out my smaller paper cutter where you can do this.  Also beside that you see my order that I received from SU! this week.  That is it; that is what is going on here.  Now, I am headed out to tea with friends, and then Christmas shopping.  Ta Ta! :)

I am scrapping a 50th anniversary trip we took back to the same place we went on our honeymoon.
Thank you for stopping by and peeking at my workdesk.  Leave your number so I can come by and see you.  I love seeing what all of you are doing, too.  Happy WOYWW!

WOYWW #391

Ps. 107:1  O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

It is that time again! Time to show our craft desks. Stop over at Julia's Stamping Ground to see the rest of the deskers!  I have worked on several projects lately, so just decided to show you what my stamp off paper looks like that is on my work area. You can almost see proof of most of  the projects on there.  Short and sweet today!  Already been to the gym this morning, but haven't eaten breakfast yet!  Oh, alright, decided to show you cards I made, too.  But not showing my gift calendars I am working on until they are gifted!!! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to stop by your space today, too, so leave your number.  Happy WOYWW!

Happy Thanksgiving! & WOYWW 390

Ps. 107:1  O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Good morning!  My desk is a mess today due to nothing working out as planned!  Do you have days like that?   Also, showing you a shot of two plastic organizer pieces I picked up for a couple of dollars at a store that was closing and selling their display cases etc.  I am uning one for envelopes and the other for anything that will fit in it.  It is three sided.  I find that if something is stored in a drawer, as neat and organized as that is, I forget to use it!  So put some things in this plastic display case so I will see it and use it!

Also, forgot to show you my birthday presents from a couple of weeks ago.  Some new Chameleon markers  and a Wash Tape storage/dispensor.

Why am I showing all this to you?  Check out Julia's Stamping Ground and find out all about it, plus see many other bloggers desks from all over the world!

Messy, unfinished projects that didn't go as planned.  Also on left a few things I picked up on clearance at Hobby Lobby!

My new Washi tape organizer & dispenser on top left and on bottom right my new Chemeolon Markers.  Also on top by light you see an example of calendars I make every year for friends and family.

Picked up pamphlet holders at store closing  for envelopes and embossing powders & assorted items.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
Thank you for stopping by!  And for my American friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Feeling Thankful & WOYWW 389

Ps. 107:1  O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

I am feeling thankful this morning , that I woke up, that my husband is healthy enough to be playing golf today, and that I have a craft room full of crafty things!  I am kind of frustrated with myself, that a lot of times I complain.  Why do I do that when God has given me such a abundant life?  There, now I am whining again about whining!

I am here to show you what is going on in my craft room, because that is what we do on What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday.  Below are several shots of my desk and other parts of my room.  What is going on are several projects.  Not happy doing just one!  I am scrapbooking, making gift calendars, a card or two and if that wasn't enough, last night I began to unmount woodmounted stamps!  That makes them easier to use in the Misti! (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented!)  I don't know how I stamped before having the Misti!

This doesn't look too bad, but this is the cleanest area! LOL

I got a ton of 12x12 paper at a craft show Saturday for a flat $10.00!  Some of it was even in color families or papers that would go together and in large ziplock bags.  I was even surprised to find chipboard letters, and stickers in all of it.

I even had to move "stuff" off my work space and put it on my cutting station!

It doesn't matter how much room, I have, I just cover it up!
That is what it looks like here.  I am off to see what you are all doing!  I am thankful for all of you!  Thank you for stopping by.  Happy WOYWW!

Scrapbooking & What's On Your Workdesk? Wedneday 388

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good Morning! It is Wednesday again! How does that happen?   I will show you a quick view of my desk, because that is what many bloggers around the world are doing today and  hooking up over at Julia's Stamping Ground!

I have been scrapping and making cards!  This doesn't look too bad, but not showing the floor or other parts of the room, which are messier.  I did accomplish some nice projects.  Below ia a layout I really am happy with.  I am hostess for the Monthly Scraplift Challenge on SplitcoastStamper, and my challenge this month was to incorporate mixed media on our scraplift.

I used  delli paper that  had  been used to get the  last bits of paint off the Gelli Plate.
I used Tim Holtz Distressing ink (Vintage Photo) on edges of  all the papers, leaves, and  panel under photo.  I used a perforator to distress the panel under the photo.
I used SU! leaves thinlits for the leaves.  The base paper for the layout is KaiserCraft Secret Bird Society Collection and the scraps are from Authenque Genuine Collection.
I added sequins for interest.    Since AnniePanda, (Joyce Ann) used a frame on her project, and that is who I scraplifted, I used this frame.  I found it in my stash and it is actually a rubber feeling file label.

That is it for today.  Thank you for stopping by!  Please leave a comment so I know you were here.  I can't wait to drop by and see what everyone is doing today.  Have a great Week!

MY Birthday Cards From My Crafty Friends & WOYWW #387

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good morning!  I have just a short post today. A friend from church is coming over and we will be doing prep work in my craft room for an upcoming Encouragement Ministry card making day.
I decided to show you all these beautiful cards that were made for me by my crafty friends for my birthday, last Friday!  Aren't they talented?  Just want to say thank you to every one of you who made these beautiful cards!  I treasure them!

Thanks for stopping by!  This afternoon, I will come see your space.  Meanwhile, have a wonderful WOYWW!  Stop over at Julia's Stamping Ground to see the rest of the Bloggers.

Falliday Fest & What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 386

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good morning!

Oh, my goodness, I haven't posted for over a month!  How does that happen?  I have an excuse for two of the Wendsdays, because we took a 10 day cruise.  :)  Fun!  So without further ado, here is my desk today.  I have been doing challenges for the Falliday Fest at Splitcoast Stampers.  This one was for the Blue Christmas.

Here is a card I did for the Shaving Cream Stencil Tutorial Challenge.  I used the 6x6 Aspen Tree Stencil by TCW.  I applied shaving cream with drops of re-inkers.  I also used Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug EF under that.  I used Night of Navy and Soft Sky re-inkers and CS.  I think I used a drop of Watermelon Wonder re-inker, too.
Here are a few photos from our cruise!
Sunset as seen from our window at dinner

WOYWW 380 & 50th

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good morning!  How are all my crafty friends?  :)  I missed last week, I guess my excuse is it was our 50th wedding anniversary on the third and we went on a short get-a-way.  Would you believe we went back to where we went on our honeymoon?  We went back to the same restaurant, too.  We have the original ticket; it was $2.50 each.  This time for same thing as then, it was $16.00!  We had a delightful time!

First photo is of my desk for the What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, as we show our desks.  Check our hostess Julia's Stamping Ground to see what the rest of the deskers are doing.

I got a goodie envelope from my Stampin' Up! demo, Kelly, this week , just for ordering!
Beautiful Christmas and fun Halloween papers, ribbon, enamel dots, and the cutest little charm from the Christmas Trinkets. Best of all a sweet little note thanking me for my business!  Other items, some cut, fold, & tuck dies from Spellbinders that I picked up at Tuesday Morning.  A LOTV image I am going to color for a Christmas card.  Oh, and I tried using the brass stencils thru the Big Shot, didn't do anything  I must doing something wrong!  Well, you get an idea what is going on here.  Now, I must go see what you are doing!

Next is a photo of some of the gorgeous hand made cards for us and the other kind too.  I made the box and matching card for my husband. The card to the left of the box is from my BFF whose 50th was earlier this Summer.  She and I have known each other since 7th grade, (57 yrs.) She is 24 days older than me.  Just saying.  Thank you to my lovely friends for all your best wishes and cards! Oh, the background for the cards is a photo our son took and  had enlarged and put on wood for us.  It is on our mantle.  Of course the cards are in front of the statue of liberty and a ship in front of it. :)

Thank you for stopping by and for your lovely comments.  Off to see you!

WOYWW 378

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good Morning!  Another Wednesday look at desks all around the world!  You can check out the others at Stamping Ground.  But here is a quick look at mine.  I have been working on a Tea Party card for the Splitcoast Stampers' Teapotter Tickle Challenge.  I was trying to make a pocket card.  hmmm.    I see, that it is time to change my calendar out.  What happened to August? Oh, and there is my Color Coach from SU!  Did they stop making them? I didn't see one or cards for the new In Colors in the new catty.  Then you see how  I ruined three sheets of 12x12 trying to make this card.  I have never been good at special folds and special cuts cards.  But it is almost done now.  I wanted it to be special.

Happy WOYWW!  Have a great week!  Thank you for stopping by and your very nice comments.  I am on the way to see your desks!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 377

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good Morning Deskers!  Oh, my goodness, it is Wednesday, again!  It is time to show our desks.  We all sign up over at Stamping Ground and Ms. Julia is our wonderful hostess! It just makes me smile this morning that I am going to get to visit you and you are going to visit me.  For those who are wondering what I am talking about, just check out the link above and you will have so much fun looking at what everyone is doing on their desks this morning.

I have been going through a photo box of the 1980s.  I am trying to get these photos scrapped.  Two pages done so far, as you see below.  It is an overwhelming project!  The photos are in envelopes with the year or event written on them.  They are in these envelopes in a box, because someone told me about 20 years ago, to take them out of those sticky albums, because they would be ruined.  So I did. Sometimes, I wished I had left them in there! Also, this is just one box; I have boxes for the 70s and 90s, too!   Oh, well! Here is my desk this morning.  I have to add that it has been a fun time going down memory lane!  Even my husband has enjoyed looking at these again!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope to stop by your space today, too! Have a great week!

WOYWW 376 ( What is On Your Workdesk? Wednesday)

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good morning, fellow deskers!  It is finally cooling down a bit.  Maybe just lower nineties today! If I go early enough, I will be able to walk before it warms up.  It is difficult to get  steps in when it is so hot.  I can usually walk three miles in an hour. If I can get out this morning before it warms up  that will help with the steps. You can check out my virtual walk on Walking 4 Fun on my sidebar. I am virtually walking the Appalachian Trail.    I hope you are having a blessed day.  The reason we are here,  is to show our desks.  So here is what mine looks like ths morning.
I have been working on a card for a challenge on SCS, using a SU! set that I have had for a year, but not used.  You can see a container of sequins that are fun to play with.  A SCS friend sent a lot of them to me.  I didn't even know sequins came in so many shapes!  Also, you see a stamp set I purchased at Michaels this week, a smaller version of the Crazy Birds.

That is all that is going on here.  You can see more deskers at Ms. Julia's.  Happy Wednesday!  Hope to run by your space and see you, after I walk!  Thank you for stopping by and for your comments.

DTGD Cards & What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 375

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hello fellow Deskers!

I have just survived a marathon week of Dare To Get Dirty Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. We had 42 challenges in 8 days, plus two bonus challenges before the week began! I learned new techniques like Faux Metal and plastic paper background.  I used some stash of backgrounds up from my Gelli plate and other backgrounds. I used stamps I have not used in years.  There is something about DTGD that inspires you to use your stash and your stamps and your supplies of embellishments!  These challenges really get the creative juices going!  I have so much fun every year doing these challenges.  Splitcoast Stampers does this for their Fan Club Members as a reward!  The Dirty Girls or Dirty Dozen and alumni are fabulous hostesses!   I had so much fun chatting with the other participants as we encouraged each other to the finish line! The fruits of my labor are  8 more Christmas cards, 9 birthday cards, 3 thinking of you cards, 2 sympathy cards, 1 very special anniversary card, and gift box, (for my husband for our anniversary) 1 thank you, and 17 friendship cards, that could be birthday or any occasion cards. I have already mailed out 8 or 9 of the cards.  Here is the photo I promised:

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to stop by Julia's to check out the other deskers!  Have a lovely day!

New Stash & Misti and What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 374

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Good morning fellow deskers!  I don't know what happened last week, but Wednesday came and went and I didn't post!  These weeks just seem to fly by!  This week I am playing Dare To Get Dirty at Splitcoast Stamper!  So far we have had 21 challenges not counting today's.  I have done 20 so far.  We still have 21 to go through Friday!  Love this week of challenges to which they treat their  Fan Club!  This week, I will show my new things!  Next week, I will have the photo of all my cards made this week!
See my new Misti?  I have been having a great time with this new  tool!
Hop over to Julia's if you want to see more deskers.  It is so fun to hop around the world virtually to see what the other crafters are doing.  Thanks for stopping by!  See you next time.

Dies & Adhesive Comments, WOYWW 372

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hello fellow deskers!  We are all back to Julia's this week.  So wonderful that she is able to host us again.  And we thank Jan for her  wonderful coverage while Julia was not able to host us.

Down to business!  Here are a shot  of my desk this morning.  Nothing going on, just left overs from what I did yesterday.  I am in the middle of a little housekeeping, so not quite ready to craft yet this morning.  I will show you a couple of projects I did this week.  I really had a productive week, even finished a few scrap lay outs.  I have gone back to scrapping some 70s photos!  When I realized they were 40 years old, I couldn't believe it!

This is leftovers of making a tea party card, and a peek at the card too. I used designer paper for this card.  I even cut out some of the dresses and mounted them on the card for 3-D effect.  I added a sentiment, gold cord and a little star charm.

Made these cards using some new Memory Box dies.  Intricate but running them through the Big Shot with dryer sheets, card stock, wax paper and then the die,  they came out easy.  Also I used a new spray adhesive on the intricate dies and that was easier, except for getting it all over me and my craft sheet.  I have to figure out a different way to do that, maybe over newspaper.

Thank you for stopping by and for your encouraging comments!  I am off to visit you! Have a great Wednesday.

Z For Zebra & WOYWW 371

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hello, everyone!  WOYWW Greetings to all the deskers!  Oh, I just read the great news over at Lunch Lady Jan's!  Julia will be in charge again  and we will be back at her place next week!  That is good news, because it means she must be feeling good again.

Well, I crafted at church today and we ladies finished 40 cards in an hour and a half.  ( and we were few)  So, I came home all ready to craft.  I put supper in the crock pot and came down to my craft room and even finished a card! Below is a photo of my desk since that is what we are supposed to be showing.  Also, below is a photo of my card I made this afternoon.  One thing I learned is my hands are not as flexible as they used to be!  It took me an hour to get those 6 beads on that floss!    But I like them on there.

Oops!  My cup of tea even got into the photo!

This card was for our Alpha Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  It was a double challenge.  We are on Z but we were also to take our zip code, add it up and then use the corresponding letter with what the total was.  My letter ended up being R.  So I used red card stock and red beads.

Thanks for stopping by!  Thank you everyone who commented last week! You made my week!
Have a great week!

Card Kit Making & WOYWW 370

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

I am here this week, but forgot to post earlier, then from ten to one, I had ladies in my craft room.  We were making up card kits for our Encouragement Ministry card making event next Wednesday.  So, probably be late next week, too.  We die cut sayings and Bible verses for the insides of cards.  We had the Cuttlebug and Big Shot going.  One to die cut and the other to emboss.  Someone stamped the Praying for You and the Welcomes, and then someone punched them out.  Everyone had a job.  then we die cut and punched layers for under the sentiments.  We package everything in baggies, and next week, the ladies will create, by putting together in any way they want and  adding embellishments, and butterflies and such. Here is what my space looked like after they left!
You can see how I keep my dies.  I keep them on magnets in plastic pages in those black notebooks.

Again we are linking over at Lunch Lady Jan's Fabric Frenzy, while Julia gets better.  And she does seem to be getting better, and even posted this week!  Yay!  Go on over and check out the rest of the deskers!  I am headed over now.  I really like seeing what crafters all over the world are doing. Thanks for stopping by and for letting me know you were here!  I really appreciate it.

Clean Desk & WOYWW 369

This is what my desk looks like, if my husband has t moved anything.  He is there, but I am out of state visiting our daughter and family.  We have done a variety of activities.  But no crafting.  This morning we went Letterboxing and found 6.  We also are getting our steps in, over 10,000 this morning walking trails in the park.

So, anyway here is my desk as I left it.There is a new stamp set, and some used ones I bought at a craft garage sale on my desk.  Also some print outs of the calendar template I might use to make my Christmas gift calendars.

We are posting at Lunch Lady Jan's.

Thank you for stopping by and for letting me know you were here.  It is not easy for me to post this from my mini iPad, but will try.  I am really electronically challenged!

VSN & WOYWW 368

Hebrews 11:1  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

What a week -end!  I had so much fun making and posting cards on Splitcoast Stampers this week-end.  I love being challenged and love seeing what the other participants come up with.  There are sure a lot of creative card makers on Splitcoast Stampers, and I love that they share their creativity with the rest of us!

So here is the photo I promised of all the cards I made for the challenges:

And the bird one was sent before the group photo:

Love those Crazy Birds!  I colored him with Copics,
die cut him, and layered him on the woods EF piece.
Such an easy card, and the sentiment is great.

This is one of my favorites, because of the "Northern Lights" technique I used.
1. I die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
2. I sponged with five colors from lightest first to darkest.
yellow, turquoise, green, purple, navy
3. I stamped a silhouette stamp (SU! Serene Silhouettes)  over all in black, and sponged the edges of the piece in black.
4. I dotted with a white gel pen!
To finished it off  I die cut another piece of colored  cardstock to back it and put it on a base that I had run through with (SU! Stars)  EF.  I put a sponged die cut sentiment on the card, too.

My directions for this card came from Melissa's Tutorial on SCS.

Another favorite:
This was actually the card I made for my challenge which was to use a water technique and some gold.

I used the Vintage Water Color Tehnique, which I just love!
1. Stamp your image in distress inks.
2. Using an aqua painter and water color pencils, paint the
blend to fill in the image.
3. Oh, and make masks of your images, so you can mask
and stamp a bg script stamp over everything.
4. Do drops and splatters over all.
I finished it off with gold cord and a sentiment tag.
I have so much fun with this technique.  You should try it.
Here is Heather tutorial on Splitcoast.

Next week, I will tell you about the technique for the
background piece under the image panel.

Now a photo of my desk.  I thought I would show you all the goodies one of my Teapotters friends on Splitcoast Stampers sent me.  It is called a tickle!  I am so tickled and can't wait to use some of these die cuts.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I appreciate the time you take to let me know you were here, too!  So glad our Julia posted this week! Wow! But we are still linking at LLJ's.  So head over there to see more deskers this week!  I am off to go over there myself.  Have a great week!
