What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #477 & Using Stash

Phi 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Good morning WOYWW Deskers! Good morning to all other visitors.  Welcome to my blog.   I am actually going to post on Wednesday this week! Sorry about being late last week.  The week does go so quickly!  Nothing too exciting on my desk this week.  I almost cleaned my desk off after I made a card, and stopped myself.  So, you will see what it looks like, at least one area, after I have crafted.

This photo is not taken from a drone, but from me stretching my arms over my head.  LOL  I do not stand on my stool any longer.  Learned my lesson about that!  You can see enamel dots, my bottle of water, my camera case, a container of adhesives, a corner punch, and an  oval scrap I didn't use on my card.  The card sitting there, I made using a 15 year old CTMH stamp set that had never been used!  Why do I buy stamps and not use them, or for that matter paper, markers, and oh, so many other items?  Do you do this?  I do know I totally enjoy this crafting hobby!  Do you?

Short and sweet, this week! Thank you so much for stopping by and looking at my desk.  Please stop over at Julia's Stamping Ground and check out the other deskers!  It is a fun blog hop!  Have a great Wednesday!

  1. Oh Sharon, I too have been using stamps, stencils and dies this week that I have had for ages and never previously used lol. I think 15 years may be a record though. Cute card. Have a great week. Sarah #15

  2. Lol, I often take pics of my sewing desk from holding the camera up like that, it works really well and you're not in danger of toppling off the stool. You're looking busy today! Ican't help you with the idea of not using new stash but I think we all do it!

  3. Welcome to crafting...I've promised myself to at least TRY what I Buy ! And it's working, just Time is never so available. But I have more than I can ever use and after I get through de stashing my storage area, the cupboards and drawers I plan to donate some crafty supplies too. I found a source for unused fabric, and in a week will have a use for that !!! Enjoy a good week.

  4. I think its that throw back to gather-er days... I have that part down pat Sharon you are not alone :) it does make me really happy though when I do get some thing I have had for a while inky. I love the birds eye drone view of your desk too :) I tend to make a semi circle to play in with piles along the edges too. ~Stacy #30

  8. Always fun to see everyone's work areas...(I must go clean mine now...or I won't even see my desk after a while.
You are not alone...I go out and buy new stuff too, when I know there is oodles at home that have NOT been used. I want to challenge myself to start using stamps that have Not touched ink before.

  12. Hard to believe that stamp is 15 and never been used, it's so cute! But I, too, have some goodies that haven't been used. Great overhead shot. And yes, I LOVE papercrafting, too! Thanks for stopping by!

  13. Hi Sharon. I should think we all buy bits and then it takes us ages to get around to using them. We happily put them away - to attempt to stay neat and tidy - then forget they are there!! Oh dear!!
    Take care. God bless.

  14. If I had your craft room, I would never leave it. I have a bunch of stamps that were given to me that I try to use. However, I am NOT a stamper, so I feel out of my element. I think your card is adorable and I suspect now that you are in your new digs, you will make more scrapbook pages and cards, too. Thanks for stopping by earlier. Happy WOYWW from # 1.

  15. Morning Sharon, I think most crafters have the same problem with unused stamps.. it's that little voice in our head saying.."come on you know you need it!!" that's to blame. Fab WOYWW pic Tracey #6

  16. You are not the only one... I too have stuff in my closets that even moved two houses with me and it's never been used (yep, stamps but also design paper and other materials...) Have a great week, warm (tropical!) hug from the Netherlands, Marit #21

  17. Hi Sharon, and you are not alone in having stamps and stuff that have never yet been used. I think I have an embarrassing amount! The Ranger site( https://www.tonic-studios.com/pages/announcment071818) has the full press release on the Misti/ Stamping Platform story. They are saying it was a 'mutual agreement', so no idea what the actual ruling was. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 xXx

  18. I totally know what you mean! There was this comment somewhere that buying crafting supplies is a totally different hobby than actually using them, haha! I think we all have that same problem but I am doing my best to buy consciously and use more of what I have. Happy rest of the week! xo Cheetarah #28

  19. Great desk shot! Yes, I think we all buy items and 10+ years later we finally use them. I tell myself to be good, but I never listen. Dorlene #34

  20. I keep telling myself to get rid of a lot of these stamps, but it's so hard to do!!! I DID get rid of a bunch of accessories a few weeks ago; things I never have used and never will.

  21. I have stamps I haven't used yet too, but don't tell my hubby ...lol 😉. This year I decided to use any new stamps and paints/inks straight away and I'm slowly working my way through those that I haven't used too 😁. I love the green card with the bowl of cherries sitting on your desk - too cute! Happy Friday and have a lovely weekend! J 😊 x

  22. Well Sharon, glad to read that you’re not standing on furniture to take the photos anymore, but my word, you must be as tall as a tre to get such a good shot...I always end up with my boobs photobombing!! Love the card, and the fact that youre using old stuff.....it’s amazing isn’t it, because you buy a stamp or set or pack of markers in the flush if excitement of what you could do with them...and then file them for the longest time. I cannot explain why, but you are not alone in doing it!

  23. Hi Sharon, what a fab shot of your desk and the card looks brilliant - I too compulsively buy way more stuff than I have time to use - I've curbed the paper addiction a bit, but can never resist a stamp and die set, as they seem to have so many possibilities :o) Annie C #10

  24. Oh, I think we all buy stuff and not use them! Stockpiling is part of the hobby LOL! Loving the birdseye view of your desk. I still stand on the chair sometimes, but I need to be more careful from the sounds of it! Thanks for your visit earlier - have a lovely Sunday! zsuzsa #12

  26. I do the occasional photo like that, when I remember, saw Helen doing it so copied. Glad you don't stand on anything, too dangerous - says she who stands on anything that happens to be around.
Love the coloured pens I can see sticking out.
Sorry I am so late - Hugs, Neet 3 xx
