My 2018 Calendars & WOYWW 451

Ps. 90:12 "So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Ok, I think this is a first for me to do posts two days in a row! And it is only my third post of 2018!  Good afternoon everyone!  Let's see I have been to the gym, played pickle ball and in a few minutes headed to the dentist!  Busy day for us retired people! LOL

Before January ends I wanted to post a photo of my gift calendars for 2018.  A dear SplitcoastStamper friend does the monthly grid with the numbers for me.  She then mails me a copy and I make copies on cardstock, and then stamp every month, fifteen times to make 15 sets.  I love stamping them, and even just choosing what I am going to stamp on each month.  So fun, and even more fun now that I have a Misti!  So here they are:

And on my desk this week, I am showing you my leftover bin on the left from where I put dies, or leftover card stock from other projects.   I pull stuff from that bin  to make another card, before  I cut up more stuff!  In the middle a scrap page I am working on from the 80s.  And on the right is two things that came in the mail around Christmas time. I won the Scor-Pal Buddie  as a prize for taking part in the Falliday Fest Challenges on SplitcoastStampers in November.   Also, shown are the Christmas tags I won off of donidoodle's Blog, Lime Green Giggles!  Fun!

I should show at least one creation that I have done, so here is my DD's birthday card that I made for her:

I paper pieced the vases from the SU! stamp Vivid Vases to make this gate fold card.  I  Love this SU! retired DSP, Blueberry Crisp.  I used Crumb Cake and Marina Mist cardstock , also from SU!  Also used MFT  Die-namics pierced squares dies.

I am linking up with Julia's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday post.  Stop by and see some more crafting bloggers!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope to come see you, after my dentist appointment!

Tuesday Post!

Ps. 90:12 "So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Good afternoon!  I am doing something different today, I am posting on Tuesday instead of Wednesday!  Mix it up a little.  I wanted to join T stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover for the first time.  Not sure I am doing it right, or if the post is what it supposed to be.  The T gang will have to let me know!

For the last 30 or so years, maybe more, I have been a teapot collector, so I have a lot of teapots!  My mother was a teacup collector, so guess what?  I have a lot of those, too.  Now, lately, I have been trying to de-clutter!  So, I have come to the conclusion that I will be giving some of my collection away to some of my friends as gifts!  My daughter or granddaughter, one of them, said that is sneaky!  Well, whatever!  But before I give the rest away, because, I already did give some away, I want to document them.  So today I will feature one that had a matching cup.

This is a Laura Ashley FTD set made in China.
I love Twinings Lady Gray, and made tea in the pot this morning.  I wasn't too successful drinking out of a square cup and would not recommend it!

A photo of a card I made several years ago.
I also collect tea stamps, dies and even one teapot punch!  So, I made this several years ago for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge at SplitcoastStampers.  The actual card is long gone, but thought I would share the photo.

Thanks for stopping by; please let me know if I am doing the T for Tuesday post right.

Happy New Year! & What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 448

Ps. 90:12 "So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Happy New Year! I think the above verse is my Bible verse for January.  I pray my days will count for the Lord. What's your motto for the first month of 2018?

Lots of changes coming this year! The first change is changing from hostess of the Scraplift Scrapbooking Challenge to the  hostess of the Stash Buster Scrapbooking Challenge on SplitcoastStampers.  We all need change, and this is a fun one.  If you want to bust your stash head on over to my challenge STASH18JAN 01/02/18.  I will tell you in the future of the other changes going on.

Right now, since I didn't post to tell you Merry Christmas, I will show you all the homemade cards that were sent to me for Christmas by my crafty friends!  Cards full of good wishes, encouragement, and inspiration! I really hate to take them down and put them away.  What do you do with handmade cards friends send you?  I started a notebook, but it is full, already.

Julia asked if any of us are working on next year's Christmas cards.  I am!  I have two done out of a goal of 66.  I joined a challenge group on SplitcoastStampers where we set a goal of so many a month for 11 months.  Mine is 6 a month.  Last year at 4 a month, I came up short.  What that amounts to, is that everyone pretty much gets a unique card from me.  Sometimes, I may make 4 a like, but generally all different. So what about you?  If you are a card maker do  you make Christmas cards all year or just last minute?

Well head on over to Julia's to see more crafters.  It is all about sharing what is going on in our craft rooms and we meet crafters from all over the world.  Julia is our hostess.  Why not join us this year?

Thank you to all my crafty friends for all my beautiful Christmas cards!

My sample for the Stash Buster Challenge: using TH stickers and older stickers, TH letter dies, MFT Die-namics World Traveler Accents dies.  The DP is SU! and Recollections CS.  SU! Swirly dies.  All was in my stash. My challenge to myself and others is to  use what I have this year and not buy new things.  I already have new things from last year that I haven't used yet!

Thanks for stopping by!  Thank you for your encouraging comments, too.  I appreciate every one of them.

Scrapbooking & What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 444

Blessed be the Lord,
who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah  Psalm 68:19

Whahoo!  I am here before 8:00 pm!  Good afternoon, crafter friends.  I had my last cataract surgery this past Friday!  I can see!  Maybe I will only need readers after 32 years of wearing glasses; the last ten they were trifocals!.  Anyway just four more weeks of eye drops every few hours, and then I am done with it! We have just completed our Christmas shopping this morning!  So, now I am scrap-booking as you can see by my desk. Again, I am scrapping old photos that really needed to finally be scrapped from 1987.  I have included a shot of my laptop  that I move over to my craft room when needed.  You can get a peek at some calendars I will me stamping to give as gifts, and my Dollar Tree readers, that I need when doing close up crafting.

Here is my desk and then I will head over to see your desks. I love seeing what is on crafter's desks from all over the world. They enable me, and encourage me in my craft! This is such a fun thing we do made possible by our hostess Julia on her Blog, Stamping Ground.

Here is a close up view of completed Scraplift layout for my Scraplift Challenge on SplitcoastStampers.
I used papers from a 12x12 Craft Smith pad titled Mermaid Coast.  Even the title and journaling box is rom the pad.  I used SU! Whale thinlit for the whales, fish, stars and hearts.  I used black rhinstones in the whales' eyers.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Have a wonderful week!

New stuff & What's On Your Workdesk ? Wednesday 443

Blessed be the Lord,
who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah  Psalm 68:19

Surprise at supper tonight, when the doorbell rang.  A package!  With all the Christmas online shopping we have been doing I forgot I was expecting something from Stamp N Storage.  They had a special last week, plus free shipping plus I had a rewards coupon so I ordered another 24 stamp/refill/marker storage unit and added it to my other one.  I filled it up already!  So I am posting my Blog after all, to show what is on my desk this Wednesday! Also, someone mentioned buying gold poster board at Hobby Lobby for our gold cards stock and it would be cheaper.  So I bought one piece with coupon for 76 cents!  This is how much I got out of one piece!
Also, new little  white spinner organizer for $9.99 at Tuesday Mornings last week.  There is also a card I made with a new technique for me with TH Oxide Inks and water spritzing on water color paper over a stencil.  And  I broke down and got the SU! Dragonfly thinlits last week.  Well, as you see by the clock on top of the storage it is 8:00pm Wednesday night.  Again, just barely making it to the party!

Here is a link to Julia's where all us bloggers get together to show our craft space every Wednesday.  Why don't you join us?

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate your comments and  am encouraged by them.

Happy Thanksgiving! & What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 442

Blessed be the Lord,
who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah  Psalm 68:19

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the U.S.  I have my turkey thawing in the refrigerator, small as it is, as there are only two of us.  Feeling thankful for all my many blessings, that I don't deserve, but because of the grace of Jesus I have many!

We are gathered together today to show our desks so here is mine.  And if you want to see everyone else's, here is a link to Julia's where we all hang out!

You can see how late I have come to the party!  Four here, so across the pond it is probably Thursday by now!

So, again, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  "Count your blessings, name them one by one!"
Thanks for stopping by!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 438 & Falliday Fest

Joshua 1:9 "Have not I commanded thee?  Be strong and of a good courage:  be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Oh, my goodness!  I haven't posted since September 6!  I have an excuse for last Wednesday, but don't remember why the rest of the times.  Last Wednesday I had eye surgery for cataracts. Today is the first time I drove, and now I can lift and stoop again,  but still have to use three different eye drops three times a day for the next three weeks!  The good news is I see better out of the one eye!  Now for the other eye!  Despite eye surgery, I have been busy this week and last making cards for our Falliday Fest Challenges and Tutorials over at SplitcoastStampers.  So far I have made 31 cards and 8 tutorial projects.  Some of the cards will go to 4 different card drives.  But, also some will go out to my friends and family as birthday cards, etc.  I have included a photo of 30 of the cards as well as photos of my craft room as it looks this morning.  I am still participating in the challenges through the end of the wee, so won't clean up till all done!  Check out the challenges; lots of inspiration!  And with the tutorials I have learned some new  interesting techniques!  One technique was Iced Leather.
Lots more like that.  Check them out.

I used a few neglected tools like the texture block for one of my projects and the color spritzer tool from SU!

The one with a teabag on it was a Trash to Treasure
Stop over to see Julia at Stamping Ground to see some more desks!  That is what we do on Wednesdays, look at one another's desks for enabling, inspiration and fun!

Have a great week!
Thanks or stopping by!
