Tuesday Post!

Ps. 90:12 "So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Good afternoon!  I am doing something different today, I am posting on Tuesday instead of Wednesday!  Mix it up a little.  I wanted to join T stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover for the first time.  Not sure I am doing it right, or if the post is what it supposed to be.  The T gang will have to let me know!

For the last 30 or so years, maybe more, I have been a teapot collector, so I have a lot of teapots!  My mother was a teacup collector, so guess what?  I have a lot of those, too.  Now, lately, I have been trying to de-clutter!  So, I have come to the conclusion that I will be giving some of my collection away to some of my friends as gifts!  My daughter or granddaughter, one of them, said that is sneaky!  Well, whatever!  But before I give the rest away, because, I already did give some away, I want to document them.  So today I will feature one that had a matching cup.

This is a Laura Ashley FTD set made in China.
I love Twinings Lady Gray, and made tea in the pot this morning.  I wasn't too successful drinking out of a square cup and would not recommend it!

A photo of a card I made several years ago.
I also collect tea stamps, dies and even one teapot punch!  So, I made this several years ago for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge at SplitcoastStampers.  The actual card is long gone, but thought I would share the photo.

Thanks for stopping by; please let me know if I am doing the T for Tuesday post right.

  2. Welcome to the T-party, Sharon. And you've brought the perfect T-party post for your debut! I love your card and especially the little charms embellishments. I don't drink tea or coffee myself, but I agree a square cup doesn't make much sensee - lol.

You'll see as you go around to visit all the other T-ladies, that just about anything goes. We share slices of life, photos, crafts, art, recipes ... Really anything goes - as long as you include a beverage reference in your post.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  4. Hello Sharon. I do love the teapot but can appreciate that the cup would be difficult to use.
I collect tea pots on a small scale and couldn't bare to part with any of them, not my assorted mix of mugs.
Sending you Happy T day wishes.

  5. Your post is perfect for T Day! In fact, this could be called a DOUBLE T post, with the gorgeous tea card, as well as the beautiful teapot, cup, saucer and Lady Grey Tea 😁. The square cup is so unusual and your comments about drinking from it made me smile, I won't be trying to drink from a square cup in a hurry now ...lol 😉. It must be lovely to receive one of your collection as a gift and it's a great idea to document them too 😁. I look forward to seeing more of your collection in future posts! Then there's your beautiful card, I love the rich red and teapot design papers - perfect 😀. It's a pleasure to meet you and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊

  7. Oh, that teapot and cup! Lovely! How generous of you to gift them. I have an octagonal mug and a couple of square cups/saucers and never thought about the shape. I look forward to seeing some of your other treasures :)

That crochet piece is gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for the tea. I have a few of my mother's pieces and enjoy keeping them out on end tables.

    Happy T Tuesday :)

  8. Sorry I'm so late visiting, Sharon. I slept today while you posted. You have created the absolute PERFECT post for T. I agree with Jo. This is even more than I would have offered in a T post. You gave us a beautiful matching teapot and cup, tea and the cute infuser, AND tea inspired art. And you provided us with a fabulous back story about the gifting, as well as why you are sharing these with us. Remember, your posts can have photos from ANY time, even years ago, so sharing that art was truly a fabulous bonus.

I hope you will PLEASE join us again next week. I post Monday afternoon at 4 pm CST because it is already tea time in Australia. So feel free to link up with us at any time after 4 next Monday.

Since you had never been to Sweet Basil before the fire, I can see why you might POSSIBLY enjoy going there. But if you had seen their buffet before AND the much larger size of their restaurant compared to the NEW one, you would not be as pleased as you seem to be with the place.

The hostess at Legends (same lady who has been there since I first went in 2008) said they were going to have a buffet on Friday after the new year. We went the Wednesday before Christmas. I suspect it will be the American, or what I call "meat lovers" buffet like they have always had on Friday. No more Italian, Mexican, or Lebanese buffets, though.

Thanks for sharing your first and might I add, PERFECT, T post with us for T this Tuesday.

  9. Welcome from a "Tea-er". Your post looks perfect to me. Your teapot collection must be fun to see. Those who receive one as a gift are going to be delighted I'll bet. I'm a fan of Lady Gray tea as well.

  10. Nice to meet you Sharon. I have a little teapot collection, but not too many. However, I don't have a square pot or cup. In fact, I am not sure if I have ever seen on like this and I like it. :) You look set up for a wonderful afternoon break. Hope it's been a great T day. Hugs-Erika

  11. That is such a unique set...love that it's square! MY folks both had tea set collections. It was hard to get rid of so many of them but I saved my favorites plus a few more. :)
    Happy T day!

  13. Good morning, Sharon. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the matte gel suggestion. I'll definitely give that a try.

As for Walking4Fun, one of the other T-ladies does virtual walks like that. I believe it's Kathy in Ozarks. You saw that my daily step counts are quite low (my daily goal is 4,000), though Fitbit tells me I've walked the length of Italy and climbed steps to outer space - lol. I work out every morning so I try not to obsess over steps ;-)

It looks like we have a lot in interests in common - from faith to exercise and arts and crafts. I hope to see you at the next T-party!

  14. Hello Sharon and welcome to the T-party. If you have seen some of the other posts you will realize that your wonderful post today was a double whammy T-post.
What a pretty tea pot. I never thought about square tea cups but thinking about it, I would probably spill it everywhere.
    The card is a beauty.
We have two things in common: I am a Christian too and I also do walking4fun. I am walking the Camino. I haven't walked much as my fitbit broke down and it took a long time for me to get another one. Now I have it and it works, so off we go.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca

  15. I go by the name of Olddutch. There is a 'badge' on the right hand side of my blog for Walking4fun but it is different from yours.
I didn't post a postcard on my last blog, but look at previous posts and you will see a few more. I do Postcrossing (postcrossing.com) so I acitvely send postcards all around the world and of course receive them too.
It's midnight here, so I'm going to bed.
    CU soon,
    Night night and God bless,
    Lisca

  17. Welcome to the party!!! I am very late getting around this week as Tuesday brought a a nasty cold and it's been draining me ever since. I love the Teapot and matching cup... I think a square would be a challenge to drink from but does look darling. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind words!!!
Hope to see you next week ♥
