T Stands For Toilet Paper Technique!

"Who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14   (Week 4 Scripture Memory for Revive Our Hearts Esther Bible study)

Good afternoon blog followers!  Happy Labor Day to those in the USA and in Canada.  It is so quiet around here.  This morning there was no traffic out when I took my walk.  So nice!  Since we are retired, and our family lives far away, we have no special plans.  However, tomorrow, we will celebrate 53 years of marriage!  We have a special walk planned and maybe out to eat. I will share that next week.

I am joining Try It On Tuesday with a couple of projects for their In My Garden Theme.
For this card I began with a gelli print.  I stamped right on it in Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut with Sizzix stamps and dies.

Next I used a scrap of  paper, that I think I had sprayed with Memory Mists for another project.  I thought it looked the color of clay pots, and I wanted to paper piece them on my project.  You can see here where I had already die cut the pots out.

Next I used a new technique for a Alpha Challenge on SCS to use toilet paper or the roll somehow on your project.  I put this toilet paper right on the ink pad to ink it up and then applied it to my card base for a background for my cacti, which by the way were in my rock garden at a previous home.  I thought this added some great texture.

This is the result.  This is my first submission for Try It On Tuesday.  Also, I will submit it for the Technique challenge for our Alpha Challenge, and the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.  I cased a lovely card by asweetjewel aka Julie.

Close up to show the little cacti and their pots.

Close up to show the texture and gel pen detail.

I hope the recipient likes her free hugs.  :)

My second project for In My Garden theme  for TIOT is this little bookmark/tag which I am also submitting for our Stamp2Spend Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

This was an image stamped on one of the tags I did last week with the sanitizer and oxide inks.

I played with some die cuts from SU! Stylish Stems Framelits dies.  I finished with gel pen accents and fiber.

Now for my drink related post for TSFT over at Altered Booklover, where Elizabeth hosts this Tea party!

In July we had a ladies Bible study luncheon.  I just loved their decorations and discovered a new tea and just have to share it with you.  Those little suitcases are so adorable, and everyone had a different teacup!

Downton Abbey Tea!  I didn't know they had such a thing!  But of course it just makes since!
And I loved it.  I guess they have several flavors, too.  This was a Christmas one.  I even love the container! :)

Have a great week.  Happy T Day to the T Gang!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I love to hear from you, too.

Happy anniversary tomorrow, dear Sharon. I am sure the two of you will have at least that many more, too.

Wow, you are an enabler. You are TRYING to get me to buy some of those oxides, aren't you? They apparently have a lot of great uses and the toilet paper background is beautiful. I adore your cacti, too. This is absolutely a gorgeous card. I love how you took us through how you created it, too.

Your tag is gorgeous. Again, those oxides came in handy for these specialized techniques.

I agree those little suitcases are adorable and the different tea cups made it all so much more interesting. I was also surprised by how many teapots were used. No wonder your bible study group likes to get together.

Thanks for sharing your incredible art and your Downton Abbey tea with us, as well as the gorgeous teapots and tea cups, too.

BTW, you asked about Kimmie. One Tuesday when we arrived for tea, she told us she would still be drinking tea, but was taking a break. Period. No other word, either. She never came back to host Tea or to join us after we continued to meet up each week. After awhile, I got tired of having to leave my post link in the comments. Since I was encouraged to take over, that's when T Tuesday was born. BTW, you were supposed to drink TEA and ONLY TEA when Kimmie hosted. There are loads of us who are glad we branched out and are able to drink other things, like COFFEE (grin)!

I'm so glad you were able to join us at Try It On Tuesday Sharon. Those are cutest cacti I have ever seen and I bet they don't hurt if you bump into the spines. Thanks for linking up. And I am impressed with those little suitcases. How cool. I have seen Downton Abby Tea but have never tried it. Did you see Downton Abby movie comes out in a few weeks? Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

super card and tag- love the cacti:) What a lovely tea setting and that darling little suitcase on the plates! I have seen the Downton Abbey teas for sale in a shop after seeing the exhibit in Florida in February. They had lots of other Downton items for sale but I was good and didn't buy anything:) Happy T day!

Interesting technique. The card you made is so cute. And the bookmark is very pretty. The tea table at the luncheon looks so pretty. I didn't know there was a Downton Abbey tea. That would make a nice gift for a Downton fan. Happy T Day

Happy Anniversary both of you! Enjoy your specioal day together.
Free Hugs? Yes, I'll stand in line for that one, but I don't like the thorns on the cacti.....
The table setting at your Bible study luncheon is exquisite. So beautifully done. Especially the suitcases.
No, I've not heard of Downton Abbey tea, but I'm sure it was delicious.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

Happy anniversary, Sharon! 53 years - how wonderful. You must have found your one and only when you were very young.

Great page and techniques. That textured toilet paper really made a nice impression for the background. TFS! The flower pots are adorable - very clever. Lol - I just got the connection with the phrase "Free Hugs." Thanks but no thanks.

Beautiful tag.

The little suitcases are adorable and the tale setting is lovely.
