T Stands For Taking A Walk

One of my favorite Bible verses KJV Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I had another interesting adventure last week when I mailed my ATCs to Spyder and Elizabeth.  I decided that I would just leave my car at the post office and take a walk from there.  It was noon and hot, but since I was out anyway, I wanted to get my steps in for the day. I found a dilapidated fitness trail and decided to walk it.  Here are some photos.

 A rotted fitness station

There was a overgrown street in back on the trail and pond that went nowhere.

There was life on this large pond  that the trail circled.

Not only has the trail been overgrown and let go, but this bridge on one part of the trail is dangerous looking, but I went out on it and took a photo of the water both ways.  No one is taking care of anything.

Stairs to nowhere.  A deserted road to nowhere above, but don't know why these went up to it.  They are made of stone.

This is where I ended up from my walk, which had been  in back of the Marriott.    Any way, I like to walk in new places, and this was a hot but interesting walk!  LOL  I just wonder who owns the land and why they have let it go to pot.  You couldn't see the pond from the trail except in a place or two, because the trees and bushes, and weeds were so overgrown. It would be such a lovely place to walk if upkept properly.

I have to show my gift from our wonderful hostess, Elizabeth.  Her friend Sally was downsizing her craft supplies, and getting out of scrapbooking, altogether.  I guess she was going to send these to Goodwill or throw them out, and dear Elizabeth thought of me and rescued them!  She ask Sally if she could take them and give them to me?  Wow!  Thank you Sally and thank you Elizabeth!  I will definitely be using these.  The one in the box is so pretty and I plan on doing a heritage scrapbook for my sister and gift it to her in the box at Christmas.  I had never seen any scrapbooks like this in a matching box and there are three of them in boxes. One of the boxes not only had the album, but also matching papers.  The one I have slated for my sister is the one with the bows.

Here is one card I made this week.  It was for several challenges on SplitcoastStampers.  The stamp set was an old one from SU!, Nature's Sketchbook  I stamped and heat embossed with Versafine black ink and black embossing powder.  The heat embossing was for the heat challenge for the Ways To Use It.  I water colored the flowers, and the background is color bursts with water for the Free4All to use water.  This is also for the color challenge for Coastal Cabana, pink, and silver. I added silver stickers to the die cut butterflies, (Beautiful Wings emboslit for Su!)  Also, this is for Alpha Challenge to do journaling for J, and lastly for the Teapot Challenge to do a Summer card.  This has already been mailed to the Teapot destination of someone who needed encouragement.  Every week the teapotters on Splitcoast have a tea party for someone who needs encouragement.  They had one for me when I broke both my wrists, and last month  they had one for my husband to encourage him after falling and breaking his hip and having surgery. I will take a photo for next week of all the cards he received from all over the world. Today, he just got one from Germany.

It is about time for my ticket to the party, my drink related post.  That is what we do, have a drink related post and link up over at Bleubeard & Elizabeth's at Altered Book Lover as they host T Stands for Tuesday.  Then we visit each other and find out what we are each doing.

One of the first cards I ever made about 12 years ago.  I don't have this stamp any longer.  I still have quite a few tea stamps, thought.  I think I collect them, but did part with a few of them.  Just like my teapots, a person doesn't have room room for all of them.
Happy T Day to the T Gang!  Thanks for all who stop by, and especially for commenting.  I read everyone of them.

  2. I'm so glad you will be able to use these scrapbooks. One thing about Sally is, she never bought anything cheap. It was all quality and well known products.

When you told me about this old fitness trail, I became curious. I could find nothing on the internet and will have to look through county records when I have a chance.

Beautiful cards and the one with the teacups is ageless. Too bad you got rid of the stamp, but I'm sure someone will appreciate it. It's amazing how some cards and stamps are timeless.

Thanks for sharing the old walking fitness trail that goes nowhere, your new albums, and your cards, including the tea inspired one for T this almost Tuesday, dear Sharon.

  3. Too bad about the trail being neglected - I do wonder who it's owned by and why it is just left as is....
How very thoughtful of both Sally and Elizabeth to give you the scrapbooks! I'm sure you'll put them to good use. Cute teacup card. I have LOTS of stamps too and do go through them from time to time to donate the ones I never use any longer. Making room for the new-lol:)
    Happy T day!

  4. It's too bad that walk has become overgrown and worst for wear. It looks like it would be a great place to stretch your legs if you were staying at the hotel. And nice gift from Elizabeth and Sally. It is always good to find someone to pass on things to when they are no longer loved by us, isn't it? Nice cards too. Hope you have a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika

  5. What a pity that the lovely trail has been left to decay, it could be so lovely! Enjoy the goodies you got from Elizabeth / Sally! I have given lots of things to the local Kindergarten and hospital. Love your cards. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  6. A beautiful walk - and artwork!
Hope people will use the fitness trail again - I remember this from my childhood and it comes back here now, too!

  7. Happy T-day, Sharon!

Love your walk pictures. Very sad that someone let that area grow up - looks like it would be a good addition to the Marriot as an amenity.

How sweet of Elizabeth to think of you and Sally to share - those books look super cool!

Love your card - the ones using older stamps are always my favorites - somehow I think of them as underdogs or something and I am pulling for people to use them. LOL. Your teapot/cup card is darling. Since you participate in the Teaparty Challenge, I can see you collecting tea related stamps. I need to start doing that challenge again.

My hubby fell this weekend - we are off to the doctor today to see what he did to his knee - we know it is something not good but don't think it is super serious (hoping anyway). When he fell, I instantly thought of you and your husband. I am glad he is doing better.

  8. What a shame that the walk you took is so overgrown, it looks as if it would be a pretty place to walk.
A lovely gift from Elizabeth and Sally, I know you will use them as you love scrapbooking and I’m sure your sister will love your gift.
I love the teapot card, and the sentiment.
    Happy T Day Sharon

  12. Sharon, your walk looks interesting but such a shame that it’s been left to deteriorate. You are braver than me as I would never walk alone on a path that wasn’t used much. I hope that in the future it is resurrected. Wow those scrapbooks look beautiful and I can see why you chose the one with the bows for your sister. It is gorgeous. So lovely that Elizabeth and Sally passed them on to you as you will make good use of them. I love love your tea cup card….I wonder which challenge that is for *wink*. It is absolutely gorgeous. Love reading your blog. Happy day and week. Hugs from Oz jx

  13. Sharon, thank you for sharing your adventure with me. I had a great time reading and seeing everything through your eyes. Your sister is going to be elated and filled with excitement when she opens your scrapbook made just for her. Our best memories come from photos. I look forward to reading about your next adventure. Have a wonderful week.

  14. What a lovely route you found to walk but so sad that it was so neglected! I wonder if it was attached to the hotel but since electronic exercise devices have now taken over there is no reason for folk to want to exercise outside! These days some folk just don't want to walk anywhere!
I love that pile of Scrapbooks - enough to encourage you to want to get on and use them.Belated Happy T Day, Chris
