T Stands For Time For T Day!

One of my favorite Bible verses KJV Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Do any of the rest of the T Gang struggle for a title for T Day post?  It seems to me that T should stand for something that begins with T; right?  But I notice it doesn't always. LOL  The days are getting hotter as we move towards August.  I have to get up early to walk.  I have been trying to get gone by 7:00 AM, but I am not always successful. I got gone by 7:30 today, and back by 9:00.  I usually  walk two miles on my trail and two miles back, for a 4 mile walk.  It usually energizes me, but with the heat, it makes me more tired than usual. I am including a couple of photos of my walk for T Day.  I don't know how I got them off my phone, because I wanted to share more and now can't figure out how I did it! LOL  I am so electronically challenged!  I was looking for the photos just now, and closed this window.  Thankfully Blogger saved the draft!

I will show you photos from earlier in July of my walk when it is empty.  Love it then, but then it gets busy with bikers, joggers and pet walkers, etc.  Also, now the trees have greened up even more and are over the path, and you are walking in a tree tunnel.  Love it!  Makes it a little cooler with shade from the sun.

Oh, and I take a break on the way on this bench, and coming back another rest, too.  And my view each way from the bench.  And believe me it is difficult to get photos with no one coming or going on the trail.

Time for a little craftiness.  The card below is a card I made to send to a lady for her 94th birthday for our Teapot Challenge on SplitcoastStampers.  She is a farm girl, so that was our theme.  I made a side step card fold and covered with gingham checked paper, very old from my stash of retired Stampin' Up patterned paper.  Then I stamped and fussy cut the chick from a Stampin' Up set Hey Chick.  The sentiment is from another Stampin' Up set.  I then added stickers to the steps.  I had fun with this card and I hope that our recipient gets some joy from it.

Today is the big reveal over at Altered Book Lover.  To celebrate TSFT's 8th anniversary, some of us sent out ATCs.  I received mine from Erika plus some goodies!  Thank you!

All this was in the envelope with the ATC!  So fun!

I can't wait to use this stamp!

And here is Erika's wonderful collaged ATC! The trim is so cute on the bottom, and how perfect is that sentiment!  I like you a latte, too, Erika!  Thank you!

And thank you, Elizabeth for this wonderful remembrance of the 8th anniversary of TSFT.  Just a perfect ATC for the event, even with the 8 on it! Love all the drinks in the background, cocoa, java, latte, etc.  And it describes TSFT perfectly; friends & drinks!
Be sure to stop over and see our host and hostess Bluebeard & Elizabeth for TSFT over at Altered Book Lover.

I think that is a wrap today.  I don't know if my recipient has received her ATC yet, so I will show how I made it next week.  Waving to all the T Gang.  I hope you all have a great week!  Thank you for stopping by!

T Stands For Taking A Walk

One of my favorite Bible verses KJV Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I had another interesting adventure last week when I mailed my ATCs to Spyder and Elizabeth.  I decided that I would just leave my car at the post office and take a walk from there.  It was noon and hot, but since I was out anyway, I wanted to get my steps in for the day. I found a dilapidated fitness trail and decided to walk it.  Here are some photos.

 A rotted fitness station

There was a overgrown street in back on the trail and pond that went nowhere.

There was life on this large pond  that the trail circled.

Not only has the trail been overgrown and let go, but this bridge on one part of the trail is dangerous looking, but I went out on it and took a photo of the water both ways.  No one is taking care of anything.

Stairs to nowhere.  A deserted road to nowhere above, but don't know why these went up to it.  They are made of stone.

This is where I ended up from my walk, which had been  in back of the Marriott.    Any way, I like to walk in new places, and this was a hot but interesting walk!  LOL  I just wonder who owns the land and why they have let it go to pot.  You couldn't see the pond from the trail except in a place or two, because the trees and bushes, and weeds were so overgrown. It would be such a lovely place to walk if upkept properly.

I have to show my gift from our wonderful hostess, Elizabeth.  Her friend Sally was downsizing her craft supplies, and getting out of scrapbooking, altogether.  I guess she was going to send these to Goodwill or throw them out, and dear Elizabeth thought of me and rescued them!  She ask Sally if she could take them and give them to me?  Wow!  Thank you Sally and thank you Elizabeth!  I will definitely be using these.  The one in the box is so pretty and I plan on doing a heritage scrapbook for my sister and gift it to her in the box at Christmas.  I had never seen any scrapbooks like this in a matching box and there are three of them in boxes. One of the boxes not only had the album, but also matching papers.  The one I have slated for my sister is the one with the bows.

Here is one card I made this week.  It was for several challenges on SplitcoastStampers.  The stamp set was an old one from SU!, Nature's Sketchbook  I stamped and heat embossed with Versafine black ink and black embossing powder.  The heat embossing was for the heat challenge for the Ways To Use It.  I water colored the flowers, and the background is color bursts with water for the Free4All to use water.  This is also for the color challenge for Coastal Cabana, pink, and silver. I added silver stickers to the die cut butterflies, (Beautiful Wings emboslit for Su!)  Also, this is for Alpha Challenge to do journaling for J, and lastly for the Teapot Challenge to do a Summer card.  This has already been mailed to the Teapot destination of someone who needed encouragement.  Every week the teapotters on Splitcoast have a tea party for someone who needs encouragement.  They had one for me when I broke both my wrists, and last month  they had one for my husband to encourage him after falling and breaking his hip and having surgery. I will take a photo for next week of all the cards he received from all over the world. Today, he just got one from Germany.

It is about time for my ticket to the party, my drink related post.  That is what we do, have a drink related post and link up over at Bleubeard & Elizabeth's at Altered Book Lover as they host T Stands for Tuesday.  Then we visit each other and find out what we are each doing.

One of the first cards I ever made about 12 years ago.  I don't have this stamp any longer.  I still have quite a few tea stamps, thought.  I think I collect them, but did part with a few of them.  Just like my teapots, a person doesn't have room room for all of them.
Happy T Day to the T Gang!  Thanks for all who stop by, and especially for commenting.  I read everyone of them.

Happy 8th Anniversary TSFT!

Good evening! I hope this finds you cool.  It has been so hot everywhere it seems.  Except, I guess in Australia where I am told it is cold.   I am posting today to say Happy Anniversary to Bleubeard & Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover for 8 years of T Stands For Tuesday!  Thank you Elizabeth for having TSFT.  I have only attended the T parties since January 23rd, 2018.  I had to look back and find it, and the warm welcome I received from Elizabeth and everyone else for my first post.  What is it all about?  Mostly just sharing a beverage and catching up with each other.  We link up over at Altered Book Lover where Bleubeard & Elizabeth are our host and hostess. We then blog hop and visit each other to see who is reading what, or watching what, or drinking what, or even crafting what?  We invite you to join us.

This week some of us are celebrating by swapping ATCs.  I have mine made and will put an asterisk by my name, so I will be included in the swap.  In the future, when everyone has theirs, we will have a reveal post.  Just something fun that Elizabeth has thought of us for the celebration.

Before I share photos for my TSFT post, I want to do a plug for our Dare To Get Dirty Challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  On my sidebar, you will see that I am on the Dirty Dozen Design Team, and we are hosting the best challenges of the year from August 7th to the 13th.  I have always loved these challenges.  There will be 5 to 7 challenges a day for the whole week, including great technique challenges, sketch, color, who knows!  You do have to be a Fan Club member at Splitcoaststampers to participate, but well worth it, because there are prizes!  It is like Christmas in August!  LOL  I invite you to check it out.  I am one of the hostesses and am buy making samples, so can't show you what I am doing this week.

I remembered to take a couple of photos at Cracker Barrel last week.

I had the turkey & dressing & sweet potatoes &  apples.
Comfort food!  Hubby had the chicken strips, and apples.  Of course, we love the biscuits and honey, and our lemon water.

They have such interesting decor, and this was right above our table.

I also wanted to show you that hubby is doing well, barely needs a cane anymore.  He is even grilling again.  I really missed that while he was laid up.

I wish the T Gang Happy T Day!  Thank you all  for stopping by.

T Stands For Late To The Party!

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

So, it is still Tuesday in the U.S.  I will show you the latest technique I have learned for junk journaling.  This is called Shape Shifting technique by Julie, Dear Julie. Another name is Stack and Cut Quilt Cards.

I die cut five of these with Spellbinder labels dies out of printed or patterned papers.  I also die cut 5 blank pieces for the backs.  Stack the five pieces of printed paper die cuts.  Hold them firmly together and cut through all five layers, cutting off  sections diagonally.  Keep the layers of the cut pieces in order and set aside.  Then, on yours bases put together like a puzzle.

I really like this technique and I can use these in a junk journal for pockets or page decorations.  This technique could be used also on cards or art journal pages. Just remember, if you use five die cuts, cut into five sections.  If you use 6, cut into 6 sections.  You can use any die cut, or just a square, anything you can cut into and then put back together like a puzzle or quilt.

Hope you can understand this technique and hope you will try it, too.

I am here for TSFT over at Bleubeard & Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover.  Come join us!  We share a drink related post and see what everyone is doing.

And here is my drink related post!  Here is a card I made back in 2018.  The teapot is heat embossed in white.  I did one of my favorite embossing folders.  I used favorite colors Sage Shadow and Night of

Navy.

You all warm my heart!  Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week!

Second on the 2nd & Tag Tuesday

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

Hello Dear Readers.  I thought I would join Bleubeard & Elizabeth  for the  Second on the 2nd today over at Altered Book Lover.  I will show you  a past  post for a second time. But, first I will show you my Tag for the Tag Tuesday Challenge.  Valerie challenged us to do a vintage tag.

Mine started with this treated tag  from Artful Illusions/Mrs. O'Leary's.  Then I tore and inked up a digital image from Scrapbooking With ME.  I have watched her on you tube, and like her style.  I then added words and butterfly from Tim Holtz, inking both.  I added a scrap of lace, Nuvo dots, and some inked up canvass ribbon.

I haven't done a Second on the 2nd for a while, and am not sure how to do it.  Copy and paste?  I will try that here goes:

Butterflies Are Free

A few weeks ago on my WOYWW post I indicated a box  on my craft area that had butterflies in it.  My Blogger friend Brandy sent them  to me.  It included about 40 butterflies of different colors and different cuts. I thought I would show you today two more cards that I made with the butterflies.   I thought they were all so lovely and lacy, I just love using them on my cards. They made these cards easy! Thanks Brandy! :)

Submitted to QFTD184 & AOCC13 Challenges
I needed this card unfortunately for a friend this week.   I used SU! Thoughts & Prayers set.  I used Spellbinders oval and lacy oval dies.  I made clouds by punching a scalloped circle and sponging around it, a trick I learned from one of SCS friends. :)  The cardstock is SU! Baja Breeze & Close to Cocoa, & Whisper White.   The ink is VersaFine Vintage Sepia, ( my favorite go to ink pad).  I sponged with Baja Breeze.  Then I  used pearls on one of the butterflies that Brandy so wonderfully cut and sent me! :)

Submitted  for QFTD182 & AOCC13 Challenges

I made this birthday card for a dear friend.  Just gave it to her this week.  I ran the white through with a EF, and layered on Tempting Turquoise.  I stamped it with sentiment from Elegant Greetings from SU!  I just happened to have ribbon that matched the butterflies! :)  Really, the four butterflies are the stars here!

I wish you all a great week-end!  Hope you get to craft some.  Thank you for stopping by and for your comments!
Hugs!

The cards are just beautiful! I really like the colors and the embossing folder on the second one. :-)

Well it sort of worked.  I picked a short one from the year I first began a blog.  Here is the link to the real thing if you care to go back and see what my blog looked like back then.  Side bar is different.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful 4th of July if you are in the USA.
