With a Little Help from My Friends & WOYWW #422

Joshua 1:9 "Have not I commanded thee?  Be strong and of a good courage:  be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Good Morning Fellow Deskers!  I am borrowing from a song by the Beatles, With a Little Help From My Friends, I may get this huge un-mounting of stamps project done!  LOL  I had given up on putting the labels on my stamps after taking them off the wood, because it just took too long, and then I wasn't quite happy with them.
But good friend and fellow crafter LeAnn came to the rescue!  She was formerly my SU! demo, but now my Fun Stamper Journey demo.  She came over yesterday and showed me how to do this process in easier way, and also be happy with how they stick to my acrylic blocks, or Misti!

She even had me write the steps down!  LOL

Three things needed: Clear plastic table cloth material from JoAnns
Sizzix permanent Adhesive Sheets from SU!
Tweezers! ( That was another reason I quit the original process, ruining my nails taking those labels off the wood)  She showed me how to take it off with tweezers!

1.  Cut table cloth material
2.  Stick to sizzix adhesive sheet.  I used a whole sheet at a time.
3.  Cut the size you need for your label
4.  Pull tablecloth away from sticky.
5.  Now the  adhesive is on the  back of tablecloth
6.  Lay label flat so you can see/read it on craft sheet.
7.  Lay sticky side of table cloth over top of sentiment.
8.  Lay on stamp  (when I take the label off the wood, there is enough sticky on it to stick to the           stamp.  But if you don't feel it is sticky enough you can add  adhesive.)
9.  Trim

I didn't need to look at these steps after doing it once, but in case a month from now, I forget! LOL

So here what my desk looks like:

And look what I got in the mail a week or so ago!  Thank you Shaz!
Thanks for stopping by!  Please let me know if you can that you were here.  Check out the other deskers at Julia's Stamping Ground.  Have a great week!

oooh I love the idea of using tweezers. me, my unmounting came to a standstill when we gutted the living room and I figure there will be time again to pick it up next fall when the gardens are done and there is more indoor time weather. Love the ATC too Sharon :) ~Stacy #38

I like how you've created a "recipe" for yourself for future reference. I guess I could have used that before and avoided being disappointed. Nice idea! Happy WOYWW

I do the same thing, write it on my blog and I know where it always is. LOL Make sure you label this post somehow so you'll know where to find it. Thanks for your earlier visit. Dorlene #36

I am also unmounting all my stamps! I little differently than you, I have been buying photo albums from the thrift shop, and many have the old plastic photo keepers in them, with the slightly sticky side to hold photos - well they hold stamps too! Some stamps I place on the plastic cover if they already have sticky on them, and some I use UHU glue to stick them on because there is no adhesive at all. I may go back and use Aileen's tack it over and over on those stamps, then they will stick to the plastic. I make pouches from heavy plastic page protectors to hold my stamps. I'm planning on making a video about it it! So all my stamps are now going into binders, and I am so pleased with the result! Keep going on your project, eventually it will all be done! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35

I'm almost done with my unmounting, but had to put it off when I started school. I really want to get them done. I'll have to try this idea on the last ones that I'm doing. I've put mine on the stamps, but not sure how well they stick.

Thanks for sharing this post Sharon! As I mentioned at the Twisted Sister Post...I'm trying to do the same thing. I was reluctant to do it at first...(thought I would ruin the stamps) But now that I see how much more room I have without having those stamps on wooden blocks...I'm trying to continue to take them off their blocks. (I only have about 30 done so far...I'm going to bookmark your post so I remember the steps you have written here...
