What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 329 & Please, help?

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.  Titus 2:3-5

Good morning!  I have had a great week-end and week of fellowship in God's word and with other Christian women!  We had a great Women's Retreat this past week-end which lead into a wonderful new Bible study!  Titus 2.  Wow!  It is the study of how older women are commanded to instruct the younger women by their lives of living out the word of God. Now I knew this but now we will apply what we are learning!  That is my homework this week to memorize the verses at the top. Anyway, just had to share this.

Also, I thought I would share that in order to see a demonstration, I had to download a new app: Periscope.  You watch the demonstration or whatever it happens to be on your phone or tablet, live. You can even comment or ask questions! Here is a link to a Periscope about Periscope.(it will only be there for 24 hours after scoped.)  Just thought if you never heard of it this would tell you a little bit. :) And the scoper answers your questions.  Is anyone else doing this?  I also, to have this app , had to have a twitter account!  Oh, my goodness, am I in the electronic world or what?  So this is really a matter of prayer for me, to not spend too much time with all this electronic, Blogging, and the rest of this online stuff.  To disciple the younger women, I must spend time in God's Word! So really need to pray to use my time wisely.

What is the help I need, besides prayer?  I am showing you my desk.  I began a project today.  The black dusty looking container ( I really did clean it.)  is a make-up container, from which I removed the lighted mirror from the top, because the lights didn't work.  But I love it for keeping make-up on top of my bathroom vanity.  So, my idea was to glue some fabric or paper in the top part. I don't have fabric, then remembered this package of 15 sheets of adhesive backed fabric that I bought at Tuesday Mornings, several years ago!  Bingo!  What do you think?  Good idea?  I like the solid turquoise color over the striped, what do you think?  The other help issue:  See the lazy susan?  It was something that belonged to my late mother.  The dishes that went in it were broken or I could have sold it as an antique.  Anyway, use it for my paints?  Any ideas?  Oh:  and with my Memory Mists; I use them once and then they are stopped up.  What do you do about this problem?  In the bottom part of the  photo is my new Copic holder.  It is actually a Noir marker holder. :)

I apologize for funny way words are above.  Can't find how to correct it.  Believe me I am electronically challenged!   Please bare with me. Thank you.

I finished my British Isles album this week!  Yay!

I also tried a new technique for two Christmas cards this week: Screen Divider Card
That is what is going on today in my area!  Now to go see what you are doing!  Thanks for stopping by and for any help with my questions!  Oh, and don't forget to check out all the other deskers at Julia's Stamping ground!

You sure are full of questions today. I love the quirky paper for inside the jewel box. Since it is so black and dark someone fun and frivolous on the inside will be a nice contrast. I've seen a lot of folks use lazy Susans on their desks and if you have the room for it (and no cats to knock stuff off it) I say go for it! As for the Memory Mists my first instinct would be to insert a pin in the nozzle hole to see that helps. If not then maybe take out the whole spray apparatus and wash it in hot water to see if it unclogs? If not you could buy new mister bottles and pour the paint into them? So save me a piece of that dessert, will you? That looks decadent!!!! Love the Christmas divider card too. Judy #48

Hi Sharon, that's interesting how your writing has turned out. I once had a similar problem when I cut and pasted some words from an earlier post. Computers do some strange things sometimes and it can be really difficult to work out why they've done it. Love the cars you've made. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 36

I LOVE your screen divider card! Your Bible Study group on Titus sounds fascinating, since I also agree that as an elder, it is my job to minister to the young men coming up in the Church. Blessings!

okay I am not sure where to start, I have been reading the words periscope on facebook for a few weeks now but, I have not gone and looked into it because, most of the time when my phone wants to do updates it does not have room to do them. so, I figured I did not "need" it, ( and I do not have a twitter account either) I think the lazy susan could be so useful for anything you want to put on to it. some of my spray bottles have clogged and stopped working and I am considering buying empty spray bottles to transfer the ink to. ( but, was going to try running the pumps under hot hot water first to see if that would work) and the box, ( how are you going to stick the fabric to it?) is this something that can take heat? ( I know you can iron on ah my mind just went blank) some kind of adhesive type sheets that makes the fabric like paper so that you peel off the backing of the sheet then iron the fabric to something else ( like paper) so, its a way to make fabric like iron on patches. but, if the box would not take heat may be a hot glue gun would work?

All I had to do with this fabric was peel the back off this and put it down. Easy, peasy! I will show a photo next week. Thank you. :)

Hey Sharon. You might need to start with new mister bottles. Then get in the habit of keeping a fresh bottle of warm water at your table. When you're done with a color, remove the mister pump and transfer that to the bottle with warm water and spray out several times. This will clear the tube and nozzle before you put it away. I know it sounds like a pain but after doing this myself, I find it much less frustrating then not having a sprayer work when I want it to.

Look forward to seeing what you do with that jewelry box. Creative Blessings!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Sharon. I have problems with my mists, too. I often have to loosen the cap, then spray, then tighten the cap again. If that doesn't work, I remove the mister and clean it completely. I keep cleaning and spraying until the clear water runs through the mister. I have also found that if I clean the hole of the mister after I use it (a quick swipe with a paper towel or whatever is handy), it doesn't clog the next time I use it. That's not a 100% guarantee, but it works about 99% of the time for me.

I know you thought we lived close, but from your header photo, I don't think so. I couldn't find anything on your profile page, but I make NO secret I live in Wichita, KS. in the US.
