T Stands for Time for Tea!

" Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:"
 2 Timothy 2:8

Yes, it is again time for Tea with Elizabeth & Bleubeard over at Altered Book Lover. I hope you drop by for her tea party.  I totally missed the party last week!  So, here is my ticket right off!  We went to lunch last week, and I remembered to get a photo of our water.

Orange Chicken, very good!

Our fortunes: "Another door is waiting to be opened" & "A daily ritual will lead to great comfort."

This is the craft I have been working on today; a folio for a challenge on SplitcoastStamper.

Front with lace on closure panel, and rick-rack tie closure.

Inside: left is back of front cover with pocket and journal.

back cover

additional pages: left with corner tuck and additional journaling book.  Center page has a flip up flip down journaling pocket with tag.

Middle has pocket with another journaling booklet.  (Elizabethe, do you recognize something?)

I watched a May May Made It Crafts you tube on how to make this folio, supposedly for a photo album, but I made it more like a junk journal.  She bills it as I CANNOT STOP MAKING THESE.  It was pretty easy and very sturdy.  I am thinking of making one smaller.  This one is about 8 1/2" x 6".  I plan on adding more items to it.

I   wish our American readers a safe Memorial Day.  I know many are traveling to cemeteries to put the flowers on loved one's graves that have passed.  We do that sometimes but choose not to do it on Memorial Day when so many are on the road.

I did take my long walk on Saturday and found it decorated for Memorial Day.

I also found a large snapping turtle, so didn't get too close.  It was as large as a large platter you serve the turkey on at Thanksgiving.

As we remember our service men and women  who have given their lives for our freedom, today, I pray we never forget!  My father , step father, and husband were all in the military. My grandfather fought in two wars.
Thank you for stopping by today.  Happy T Day to the T Gang!    Have a wonderful week!

T Stands for Trips

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

Hello readers!  I am back from one trip and getting ready to take another.  Last week I went to see one of our grandsons graduate from college and got to see the other grandson's home.  Visited with our daughter and family and had such a lovely time.  I wish they didn't live so far away.  This week, I am taking a day trip to a craft retreat.

This morning I took a lovely walk as it was so nice and cool.  It has been hot here, so I have to get up early to get a nice walk in for the day.

I saw these dogs one day on my walk.  They are Norwich Terriers: Rosie and Mia, Mom & daughter.  Aren't they adorable? They wouldn't pose for me.

These guys were right out front of my house when I started out for my walk!

And I saw a turkey on my walk!

And this was a pretty view from my walk.

Wildflowers on the trail.

Our daughter reads my blog and knows about the drink related post we do for our entry to Elizabeth's TSFT party over at Altered Book Lover.  But still it surprised me when she reminded me to get a photo of our drinks when we went out to eat. LOL. She picked me up at the airport in Atlanta, and we went to Chick-fil-a to eat.

But I believe this founder of Chic-Filet is holding a drink, so this is my ticket!

I have been scrapbooking today, but no photos yet.  I wish you all a great T Day and a great week!

T Stands for Tea!

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7 KJV

Imagine that! That's right T stands for Tea!  I was thinking of what to do my blog about today and decided tea!  I love tea, and I have a lot of tea, and tea themed stamps, so it makes sense to me. Recently we attended an event at a local Seniors facility.  They invited us for lunch and a movie.  Of course, they want us to choose to live there in their beautiful apartments someday.

We had music while eating our dinner.

He was playing hymns, one of them Amazing Grace.

I chose my tea from this box before going into lunch.

I chose a Berry Black Tea.

A photo of our setting, so lovely.

I had the grilled salmon, and my husband had a Reuben sandwich with iced tea.

Then we went to the theatre to watch "The Girl Who Believes in Miracles".  This was so good!

Doesn't my husband look comfortable?  Great chairs to relax in and watch a movie!

Every Tuesday on SplitcoastStampers, we have a group called the Teapotters that make special cards and send to recipients who have been suggested.  Someone might be ill and need encouragement, or maybe someone is having a 100th birthday. Then on the last Tuesday of the month we reward ourselves by sending cards to each other.  This is the card I made for the name I drew this month.

The base is Gable Green cardstock by SU!.  The teacups across the top are stamped in different SU! inks are stamps from our local Mrs O'Leary's/ Artful Illusions, as well as the tea names across the bottom.  The teapot and cup are Fun Stampers Journey stamps & dies.  The Blessing sentiment is Morning Star Stamps and is on scalloped layered oval dies by SU!.  The scalloped white panel is a Gina Marie Die.  The leaves were gifted die cuts from another stamper.

Short and sweet this week.  I hope you all have a wonderful T-Day and week!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I love reading your comments!  Thank you for those too.  Makes us feel connected, doesn't it?

T Stands for Celebrations & Second on the 2nd

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7 KJV

Good afternoon on the 2nd and almost TSFT.  I am scheduling the next two weeks blog posts, because I will be away from my computer, so we will see how that works!

We will do the Second on the 2nd first.  I will show you a post for the second time and on the second.  Something fun that Elizabeth hosts over at Altered Book Lover.  It is always fun to see a post from the past! :)

So in case you missed it here is a post I did on the Magical Masking Tape Technique from June 2013.

Magical Masking Tape Technique

I have found another great technique!  All you need are ink pads and masking tape.  On this card I used SU! inks:  More Mustard, Crushed Curry and So Saffron. You tear off strips of masking tape and ink them up on the pad, and then put the tape on the card, and then lift off. It is a  wonderful color effect for a background!  I did that with three strips. You could do a background on the whole card doing this. Here is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. On this card I used SU! Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.  I also colored directly on the stamp with markers before stamping it, so I could do the leaves with Old Olive and the trunk with Chocolate Chip, also SU! I hope you try this technique, so easy!   Have a great week-end!

And now to show some celebrations I attended this week which also includes my ticket to TSFT, also over at Altered Book Lover and also hosted by Elizabeth & (Bleubeard).  I don't want to forget Bleubeard!

I attended a few celebrations this week.  One was to surprise a friend for her 65th!  I loved the purple decorations!

I didn't realize this was so blurry. Sorry, but wanted to show the purple and the flowers.

Another was to celebrate a precious couple's 60th wedding anniversary!

I saved two napkins for crafting! LOL

We drank water rather than the lemonade.

The cake was delicious.  I had white, and hubby had the strawberry.

And this is after all a craft blog so I will share the card I made for this 60th anniversary.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!

T Stands for Earth Day Adventure

"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you." 1 Peter 1:24-25 KJV

Hello readers!  I celebrated Earth Day, this past Friday, by being outside and enjoying God's creation.  I looked up ways to celebrate, and this wasn't exactly on the list, but it is what I did.  I enjoyed a three mile walk in a local park called Swanson Park.  I read the signs as I walked through.  I saw cardinals, ducks, deer, and dogs (with their humans).  I enjoyed visiting with a few people as we passed, and because I took a photo of two of the dogs.  I even found two letterboxes.  I thought I would share a little of my walk and even a scrap page of the event.

The park is named after Simon Peter Swanson (1886-1974), who was known as a conservationist.  His father, Nels, homesteaded on 160 acres of land in 1874-part of which became Swanson Park.  This tract of land was designated a Wichita Wild Habitat area and was acquired in 1975 by Swanson Park.  I took a photo of the sign, but the birds bombed it and you can't read it, so I tried to give you above the same info.

The sign below states Cowskin Creek changes directions 11 times in Swanson Park.  It is twice as long as it would be if it went in a straight line.

Now photos of the actual walk!

I sat on a bench, but not sure it this was the one.  There are several throughout the walk.

And here are the letterboxes I found.  If you don't know what a letterbox is, I encourage you to check the link on my side bar: Atlas Quest.  You find the boxes following the clues given on the website, stamp in their book, stamp in your book with the stamp in the box, and re-hide for the next person to find by following the same clues.

Here are two of the dogs that I saw.  I stopped and visited with the owners so I could get the dogs names & breed.  The back one is Kiwi and he is a Shepherd/Border Collie. The black & white one is Harley Q and he is a Sheepadoodle.  Isn't he so pretty?

And me!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Swanson Park, even as windy as it was. I even documented my day on a scrapbook layout.

I have been scrapbooking Christmas photos & ran across this photo of one of our Scrabble games.  This is my ticket to the TSFT Party this week over at Altered Book Lover with Bleubeard & Elizabeth.
I am so thankful that I am healthy enough to walk, as it is something I really enjoy.  Thanks for following me on my Earth Day walk today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great rest of the week!
