T Stands For Trail

Overcome Power of Fear study: Mathew 10:31 "Fear ye not therefore, ya are of more value than many sparrows.

Hello blog readers!  It is truly Fall today!  We had over 2 inches of rain last night and the temps are wonderfully cooler today!   T Stands for trail craft, today.

I picked leaves up last week while on my walk.   There were a few red ones that had fallen.  Nothing else has changed colors yet.  It is still pretty green here. I had watched a couple of you tubes on how to preserve the color for your leaves to use on projects and I had all the items needed already so tried this Mod Podge one.

I collected these on my trail where I walk.

The first thing I did with them is press them between pages in a book and sit something heavy on the book, a plastic container full of 8 1/2x11 cardstock.  It was heavy.

Next, I lay the leaves out on my silicone mat.  That is the Mod Podge I used, $1.00 at Dollar Tree that I already had.  (did you hear everything is not going to be $1.00 at Dollar Tree anymore?  Bummer!)

I painted the glue on with that old brush.

This is what they looked like after they dried.

I turned them  over and did the other side, too, because on both you tubes I watched they did.  They compared different ways to do the leaves, but I liked them one because I had what was needed for the process.

I think they are pretty.  Can't wait to use them in or on a project.  Use a fan when you do this, the fumes are strong.  I hadn't used so much of this before.  Also, I might have put too much on.  I will know next time.

Thanks for stopping by for tea today.  I had Earl Grey while doing my project.  Stop over at Altered Book Lover where Bleubeard & Elizabeth host our TSFT and see what the rest of the T Gang are up to this T Stands For (almost) Tuesday.

Have a wonderful week!

What?? I hadn't heard that about Dollar Tree. That makes me SO sad!! I always go there over the other dollar stores because everything truly is a dollar.
Love your preserved leaves. Such a beautiful color!
Happy Tea Day,

I love those red leaves. We have some color here now, but mostly yellow. I don't know where the red has gone so these are truly inspiring Sharon. Great idea to save them that way Sharon. I hope you get some color soon and a super T day too. Hugs-Erika

Sharon,

Happy T-day! Love those leaves and the colors - super idea to coat them and use them on a project. I want to try it!!!!

Everything is getting so expensive these days - a bit frightening.

Earl Grey is one of my favorites - great choice.

Beautiful leaves. I'll have to remember this craft trick to preserve them. I can't wait to see what you use them in.

Great idea Sharon, gorgeous colours too, I can’t believe dollar tree isn’t going to all be a dollar, we have todo shops and they were 100c, then in came the euro so it was a euro, now it’s a regular shop and expensive
Pleased you managed to get back
Happy T Day

I was just leaving Kathy a comment when I heard a “bang” and then my electricity went out. I stepped outside to see if it was just me, or everyone on the block. My next door neighbor was outside and he told me he had called the electric company and reported the outage. They said they would send someone out to check the problem. My electricity finally came back on at 11:17 this morning. It had been out since shortly before 5:00 p.m. last night, around 19 hours. My apologies if you thought I had forgotten or was ignoring you.

I love how you preserved your leaves. I love the red ones. Mine are either green or brown in my yard. I love how you have preserved yours for the future.

Thanks for sharing your Earl Grey and your leaf preserving ideas with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

Those leaves are beautiful! Thanks for the tutorial. I have Modpodge, so I might try that. Although I will have to wait a bit for the leaves to fall. And sadly, they don't have red leaves here.
Sorry I'm late but as you regulars know, we are away on Tuesday, and today we had a power cut so I'm even later (It's nine pm)
A belated happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
