T Stands For What Happened to May?

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

What happened to May?

I have been busy this month, but not so much crafting.  I thought I would post the Junk Journal I made before May got exciting,  for JulieDearJulie May Challenge to make a kit.  We were challenged to make up a kit, like we would be taking it with us and crafting on the go.  We could have a binding kit, free items:  adhesives, scissors, paper cutter, paper punch, and an ink pad, two tools, & choose a Julie Digital, a paper pad, 14 items or packages of items, & 14 embellishments.  Then we had 14 element challenges.

So, here is my kit:

The digital I chose, some printed on vellum, leger paper, cardstock & copy paper

My paper pad in my stash forever!  8x 11"

The book I took apart is one of my 14 items.  I used pages for some of my papers and the cover for my cover.
I removed some of the pages from the stitching so I could put them in my book, whole.

some other of my 14 items, 1.  fabric doilies, 2. package of stencils, 3. bling from $ tree, 4. paper doilies, 5. lace , 6. fabric, 7. TH ephemera, 8. $ tree stickers,  9. cross stickers, 10. trim bundle. 11. my book above

two tools: punch board with corner rounder and envelope maker & flower punch

my scissors,  hole punch, adhesives, paper cutter, & my choice of ink

binding kit, needles, thread, graph paper, paper clips (then we could use paper clips in our book for altered paperclips).

last three items of 14: stickers, blending tool, butterfly punch

14 embellishments: bulb pins, charm, paper clip, pockets, frame, antique stationary, die cut cross, die cut word, brads, flowers.

Here is my finished Journal with the 14 elements included; tags, pockets, flips, border tucks, etc.  Although, I thought I didn't have enough items being restricted to just these items, in the end, I had a difficult time using everything.

I just did one signature for a total of 60 pages: 15 2 page spreads back and front.

Some favorite pages:

Fabric flip with paper stack under for journaling on left side & Right side is card on flip, when open you see the cross in a frame, and there is journaling space.  Photo of under is below a couple of photos.

pockets in center of signature :  Each side has fancy fold with 3 pockets for lots of places to keep tags, or little journaling booklets.

This is what is under the girl a few photos up.  I couldn't get it in the right place.
When you open it, there is the journaling stack and the cross.

pages showing how I sponged all the pages with ink and did stenciling.  A Belly band on left, one of our challenge elements and one of out tags we were to make.

another page showing how I used the journal pages  Gives me journaling room.

digital printed on vellum opposite one of my journal pages from the book I used.  I covered 2017 and dates with stickers, and paper strips.

I know it looks like I shared the whole book, but honestly, just a few pages.  😀  I have become addicted to making these Junk Journals, and am already looking forward to June's challenge.  We will find out the details tomorrow on Dearjuliejulie Junk Journal Everyday on You Tube.  Come join us!

I think I will join Bleubeard & Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lover for T Stands For Tuesday, where we get together, share a drink in our post and share what we are doing.
Here is my ticket to the Tea party.  I may have shared this already; it is a card I made in January.

We have had an exciting month  here.  My husband, bless his heart, fell on his birthday, and broke his hip and had to have emergency hip replacement surgery.  Thankfully, that is all that was wrong, no heart attack or stroke.  And he has been recovering quite nicely.  He doesn't complain or whine, like I am sure I would! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. That's an interesting challenge to make a kit Sharon. Your junk journal is looking great. I didn't get to as much art as I'd hoped in May either. It was just so nice to get outside and back into the swing of things. I hope you have a wonderful T day. hugs-Erika

  3. I thought that was a great amount of goodies you were able to use. I'm really impressed by all the goodies you own. And the tools, too. What got me were those fabric Brandenburg doilies. They are sold for over $5.00 each at Mrs. O'Leary's and you got TWO for a quarter, Lucky you. I am in awe of your incredible junk journal. Yours is more like product journal (grin). And that card you made is fabulous. Thank you beyond belief for sharing this journal and card with us for T this almost Tuesday.

  13. Packing for any reason is a challenge — this is a new one to me. Just packing clothing for a trip is enough of a challenge to me.

  14. I never thougoht of making a junk journal kit. I think it would take me as long to choose kit parts as it would to make the journal. You must have an organized craft area. The journal was a lot of fun to look through.
