What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 266

Good afternoon!   I am a bit late to get my post on today. Just got home from Bible study, and took a quick photo of my desk for Julia's Desk Hop!  Check out Stamping Ground for all the details, and to see other Blogger's desks.  I see there is one card project I began on Monday, but haven't completed. But as you can see I have been scrapping my South Dakota trip.  I have done 5 pages of 20. I know there are 20 because, I divided the photos among the 20 album pockets.  I have decided to use my stash of design papers.  I have this fabulous pad of travel paper by The Paper Studio.  I went through and pulled out all of the road trip paper for this one.  I am not getting any younger, so have decided to quit hoarding this pretty paper.  Also, I am doing it very simple, and letting the paper do all the work.  I have included a photo below of a two page LO.  I had submitted this for the Scraplift Challenge on SplitcoastStampers. I lifted from Scrapper Ann who used the diamonds.  I loved that idea!   But,  I have a lot more to do.  So, better be quick with this and continue with my project.  My hope is to get this done before July is over, because in August we have another trip scheduled. I love retirement!

Simple, but scrapped!
Thank you for stopping by and for your encouraging comments.  I hope to stop by and see your area, too.

I love your pages. There's nothing wrong with simple. I love simple. I haven't used the wax paper from my die cuts. I usually just throw them away. Thanks for stopping buy. #7

Great idea to let the paper do the work so you've go plenty of time for travelling.
Glad you're having fun in your retirement. Long may it continue!
Have a lovely productive week

South Dakota was such a cool (temp wise) place to visit.i believe it was 102 the week I was in west SD! Love your LO. UTEE is a thick embossing powder. Great for impressing with stamps and I used it in molds to make gems and small masks. Thanks for the earlier visit! Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Nan G #76

Hi Sharon,
I had to laugh about the "why" it was ok to not hoard this paper anymore... not getting any younger, I have not really thought of it that way before in my head its usually... you should stock up before retirement in case there is not extra money to buy cool stuff then... but, the sad part will be it will probably be totally outdated by then ( thing's I hoard) so, your right. none of us are getting any younger... I should go through my papers again. ~Stacy #72

I'm liking the layouts. There's nothing wrong with letting all the paper do the work, that's what it is there for, right? I mean we don't' want to just cover it all up. Good thought process for the reasoning to use the paper and stop hoarding it.... I'm getting better at it myself and I'm not getting younger either! Nor have I found the magic font of youth.

Hi Sharon thanks for visiting my desk....you have been busy with your scrapbooking and it's looking great. The stamp set on my desk is from Clear Impressions and is a magazine freebie - I don't do vintage much but I've already used four of the stamps. Oh happy retirement, I think I sort of am too :-) Happy WOYWW and hope you get some more crafting time. RobynO#28

Totally agree - I've stopped hoarding too - my excuse though is the more I use, I'll get to go on a stash spend :P

Really like the diamond elements to your scrapbook pages.

I totally agree in the "simple but scrapped" philosophy. The pics of the rock formations look amazing, I hope to get to South Dakota one day. Sigh....

Hi again, I lolled at your comment about two Shaz's- I was about to say three, there's Shaz in Oz too- then you obviously found her by accident! xx

I remember visiting early and perhaps even commenting but you can't always trust Blogger to see you through. I applaud your no more hoarding campaign and laugh at the reason why. I plan my paper to be my vast inheritance. Congrats on getting a quarter of the way through your project. You are well on your way!
