T for Tags, Tea Cups, and Tea!

Rejoice in the
Lord alway:
and again I say,
Rejoice.
Phil 4:4

Today, I have deviated from teapots temporarily!   I will show you my teacups, well, mine and my late mother's.  But first a story.  My mother collected tea cups and  they were on display above top of her cabinets. I have them now plus the ones  I collected. When our daughter would come home at Christmas with her children, we would have over her best friend with her children.  We would have our Christmas tea.  It was my custom to let each child pick a teacup and a teapot for their tea.  I have lots of photos scrapped over the years of this, but can't share them, because I don't know how to blur out the their faces.  Anyway, since we are downsizing I came up with this idea to share my cups with my Bible study group for Valentines.  I  photographed them with the candy and wrapping and attached tags or bookmarks. I included on the back a verse from our Philippians Bible study and that they are from me and my mother.

These are the cups all filled, wrapped and tagged.
Teacups before wrapping. Although there are 19 teacups wrapped some of them were pairs or even four of one of them.
I wanted you to see the saucer of the one because it was so unique.

I used a SU! punch to punch the tops of the tags, and Spellbinders heart dies.  I also used embossing folders to make texture on the hearts before die cutting them.  The smallest hearts are the punch outs of a border punch.  I always save them.  That was fun gluing them on!  The dsp and cs was from my stash, as well as the white grosgrain ribbon. The Happy Valentines Day is from SU! Teeny Tiny Greetings.  I am linking my tags with Try it on Tuesday: Love is in the air.
And this is my beverage tonight as I do my blog post.  I know, hilarious, right?  I am drinking out of a mug! LOL
This is for T Stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover.
Thank you for checking out my blog today. Have a great Tuesday!

  2. Some truly beautiful tea cups and your gift idea is beautiful. I used to have several but they went away in one of my yearly purges. For the most part I'm ok with it but once in a while I miss just looking at them.
Peppermint is one of my favorite teas :)
    Happy T Day !

  6. Gorgeous, special gifts and the tags look so pretty as well. The china looks beautiful, such lovely decorated patterns on them.
I smiled at your comment with your mug of tea, but I have to admit to preffering a mug as the drink seems to keep its temperature longer.
    Happy T day wishes.

  13. Your Bible study group members must have been floored by these beautiful meaningful gits. I know I would be! Those are some of the most beautiful teacups and saucers I've ever seen. Truly!

My mother had a small teacup collection (but six children). So I only got one when she passed on. I treasure it.

    Your tags are wonderful too.

I gave you a shout out for the tip of a matte gel wash to prevent color bleeding.

    1. Your welcome! I did see that you mentioned my suggestion. I hope it worked. I did read that your prism pencils didn’t work on top of it. I should do some journaling. I have gotten out of the habit. Thanks for stopping by!

  15. I apologize. I would have been by sooner, but I ate something at dinner that didn't set well and I got very ill right as I was about to visit you.

The tea cups and saucers are incredibly beautiful, and I know your Bible group will be so very thrilled with these Valentine's gifts. This is such a thoughtful gesture on your part.

Thanks for sharing the tags you made, the beautiful tea cups and saucers, and your tea in a TEA mug with us for T this Tuesday.

If you want to share photos and don't have a blur tool on your photo editing program, I suggest cutting circles from post-it notes and placing them over the faces of the children. Again, I apologize for being late. Still fighting whatever I ate last night.

  16. You have lots of beautiful tea cups. I have some of my grandmother's and I wish I had space to put them out. You have inspired me to pull them out though and take a look at them. Maybe I can find a space. Yours looks beautiful with all the candies in them. :) Hope it was a great T day and have a happy Valentine's day. Hugs-Erika

  17. What a beautiful gift! Your Bible group ladies will be thrilled! The tags are lovely. Everyone appreciates a hand-made tag I think.
As for blurring the faces, I was going to give the same suggestion as Elizabeth. I just lie a piece of paper cut to size over the face. The same with addresses when I show a postcard, I also do it with car number plates (if I remember).
    Happy Valentine's Day and a
    Belated happy T-Day,
    Lisca
