T Stands for Too Excited

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

I am excited to be the newest Dirty Girl on the Splitcoaststampers design team aka Dirty Dozen.  We are called that because we get dirty, inky fingers, you know.

So, I have been designing cards for the March Fan Club Gallery.  It is really an honor, and I get to do this for the next six months.

Meanwhile, I have also been scrapping layouts for the CalvinBall Challenges on ScrapHappy.

I have been trying to get older photos from our family scrapped.  On this one, I collaged paper scraps on tags, then added lace, and used one for the year.  The other has journaling on the the back, and is tucked behind the photo, but can easily be taken out and read.  I used some die cuts on here and ribbon and burlap.  I love scrapping these older photos, and I am finding many treasures among them, like letters, and postcards, which help me find out important details.

Happy T Day to all the TSFT gang over at Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover.

Thank you for stopping by today.

T Stands for Spring is on the Way!

John 13:34  "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." KJV

We have been so cold this past week that today feels like Spring!  Last Tuesday morning it was minus 17F. Today it got up to 62!  I even got out for a walk. I am so ready for Spring after a week or so of sub freezing temperatures!  But I did stay in long enough to play in my craft room, which I cleaned up a little during our freeze.  I happened on to a  Tim Holtz Facebook you tube video on alcohol inks and lifting.  I have done this before but decided to try it again as I watched.  I put on some inks and then used the lift pad to ink up some Tim Holt stamps.  I think I like the result and it should make a nice card.  My alcohol inks are very old, some of them from RiverCity Rubber Works that was here years ago.  Do you remember them, Elizabeth?

Here is my photo of my Tea in my Christmas Starbucks cup in my photo of my project, with Tim Holtz in the background.  The cup of tea is so I can join the T Stands for Tuesday over at Altered Book Lover.  The lovely Elizabeth is our hostess along with Bleubeard.  Check in and see what it is all about.

Below are the two panels I did with alcohol inks, alcohol blenders and Silver mixative on Yupo paper.

Below I stamped with Alcohol Lift ink.  After you stamp, then you dab with a paper towel and it takes the ink off where you stamped.  Then the stamp has ink on it, so you stamp that on something; I stamped on watercolor paper.  Now I have two panels for cards.

Also for the last few weeks I have been working on another junk journal.  They take so much time.

I had made four as gifts at Christmas time and since have made two more.

Here is a couple of photos of my journal I made for the February Dear Julie Junk Journal Challenge.

We were to make a fabric cover.  There were items we had to make, such as fabric flip, fabric pocket, flip flop pages, etc.  We were to have at least one signature ( a group of pages sewn together), 50 pages.  Mine had one signature with 52 pages, that is 13 pages, but each is four, counting each side and front and back.  We were to use a paper pad we had on hand, a no buy challenge.  This is first time I used a hard book cover.  In other words I took a book a part, then covered it and sewed my signature into it.  I covered the stitches with the lace.

The digital pages I used were Julie's .  I earned them for finishing the December Challenge.

I am just showing you the cover and some of my favorite pages.  I spare you looking at all 52! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!  Stay warm!  Happy T Day!

My Memory Tag

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

Hello readers.  Today I wanted to share with you a tag I made for the Tag Tuesday Challenge.  Wendy has challenged us to use a photograph or part of one on our tag. I really wanted to do this one because I am a scrapbooker.  I visualized using it on a scrapbook page, but now think it will go in my junk journal I am working on.    One reason is the photograph has already been scrapped, but the other is because it is a memory I enjoy looking back on.  I remember what I was feeling at the time. I remember the breeze, the sun, the sound of the waves and smells, and they were all happy memories.  So, I want to put it in my junk journal that I will be using this year, as list journal, or a goal journal, or however I want to use it.  I will be able to look at the photo and relax and be calm, and maybe even inspired! LOL  This was from our trip to Maine in 2018.

First I cut a tag shape, then smooshed it in Distress oxides on my glass mat. Then I used modeling past through a Rabbit Hole Designs stencil. I had won it in a prize with some stamps, too, from SplitcoastStampers.  I die cut the stamped sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs. I die cut some shells to add to the tag.

Hope you like my tag.  I think I will enjoy using it in my junk journal.

Be sure and check the other tags over at Tag Tuesday.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week!

T Stands for Tag & Tea

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

Hello readers!  This afternoon, I have been working on a tag so I could take part in Tag Tuesday.  We have a delightful theme of Faery Gardens issued by Michele.  I have hoarded this pretty paper by DCWV for years!  I thought of it when I saw the theme.  Although, there are no fairies on it, there seems to be a beautiful garden.  And the title is The Garden Tea Party Stack, which works great for our TSFT, too.  Since there wasn't a fairy on it, I stamped a B Line Designs fairy on a piece of the paper with TH Distress Oxide "Tea Dye".  Oh, good ,another tea reference! LOL  I then used Tattered Rose Distress Embossing glaze. I cut with a scalloped punch and layered on another larger die cut piece of SU! Really Rust CS. I layered a scrap of lace in between the two scallops.

I am making this also for a Mixed Media Challenge on SCS to alter a paper clip, So I layered the tag on a paper clip with another piece of the pretty paper on the back.  This will go nicely in one of my junk journals.  I also, inked and heat embossed around the edges of both the tag and image piece.

You can go to our TSFT over at Altered Book Lover and join our Tea Party.  Elizabeth and Bleubeard are our hosts.  You can see  other tags for our theme at  Tag Tuesday

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great week!

T Stands For Happily Crafting!

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day." Ps. 71:8

Hello Dear Readers and T gang.  Today, you find me happily crafting!  I have been junk journaling today as well as card making, so I will share both.

In our Dear Julie, Julie Junk Journal January Challenge, we are to use junk only!
No new paper, no stamping, unless we make the stamps out of junk and our ink pad out of junk and food dye.  I won't be doing that as I have plenty of ink pads and stamps.  Just won't use them for this challenge.

One of our challenge elements to be made is  a  belly band with two inserts.  I made a belly band and put it on one of my pages that is a paper from an old Ideals magazine.  The Belly band is a map scrap from an outdated atlas.  I decorated with a tea tag, stamp and srap digi of a postcard.  One insert is one of 8 notes we can use.  I decorated with a punched tab from packaging, another scrap of digi postcard and a tea from a tea box. The other insert is an envelope someone sent me a ATC card in.  I decorated with a stamp, and can actually put something in it.  Just, an FYI, I store my ATCs in a pocket style book. I die cut the corner for this page from a book page.  I haven't done anything yet to the page across.  It is a sack that was sprayed with water, wadded up then ironed and cut to a two page size.  Something I saw on You tube. :)

Another project was a card I made for today's Clean and Simple Challenge on SpitcoastStampers.
We were challenged to go back in our gallery and pick out one of our own cards and CASE it: Copy and Share Everything, and to use an old stamp.
I went back in my gallery to 2017 and found one with this cute SU! image from Friendships Grow.
I started with Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series paper by SU!  I stamped the background script stamp, also SU! on it with Island Indigo.   Then I sponged with Pool Party ink, and then rubbed off the access, and magically the dots appear.  That is what the specialty paper does!
The layers are Recollections white, Island Indgo, and the image is stamped on Whisper white.  I colored the image with TH Distress Markers.  I layered some seam binding under the sentiment and image.

Do you spy my beverage ticket to the TSFT party over at Bleubeard & Elizabeths?  There are actually two items. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a great week!

T Stands for The New Year

Ps. 100:1  "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands."

Happy New Year!

I have been doing several new things in the new year.  One, is taking a free online class from Kit and Clouder, which also came with a free digital of this cute little deer.  The lessons show different blending techniques with either pencils or markers.  I followed the one for pencils.  Here is my first try.  I made a card out of it.

I am showing how we did it in steps.

I hope to get better.  I am already taking another class from her, too.  I would be interested to know if any of my readers have ever taken her classes.  Some of them are paid classes, but she has several free ones.  I really enjoy them.

And below are the gift calendars I stamped for 2021.   I try to not make them too flowery as I give them to some guys, like our son and grandson.  :)

And the squirrel is holding my ticket to the tea party over at Bleuberd's and Elizabeth's this week.
She hosts our T Stands For Tuesday at Altered Book Lover every
week.  Come join us and share a drink related post in your post.

Thank you for stopping by!  Happy T Day!  I hope you have a great week!

T Stands For Time to Post Merry Christmas Wishes

Luke 2:1-14 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace,

good will toward men.

Yes, I thought I would check in as it has been a month!  I appreciate that Anne checked in on me.  We are fine here except for mild earthquakes!  Several since Thanksgiving , then 7 on Saturday, the biggest being 3.7.  There is some disagreement about that number, but anyway nothing big enough to cause damage.  As we are known for tornados, not earthquakes, it is quite disquieting!  The experts keep telling us it is not abnormal, but at the same time the one on Saturday was the biggest since early 1900s!  Whatever!  We are safe, they are just loud!  We hear a big boom, and then it feels like a truck hit our house! No shaking really, just over quickly.

Enough of that.  I am posting to wish you a wonderful Christmas!

Here is my ticket to the tea party ( Tea Stands For Tuesday) over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's at Altered Book Lover.  I hope she is still there as I haven't checked!

One of my Christmas Teapots I have out for Christmas.

This is my decoration on my craft room bulletin board.

So, I wish you all a lovely Christmas.  I hope you are able to be with family in some way or another.  We will be together via Skype at one point.  Different times call for different ways.  But we can still remember one thing that doesn't change.  Jesus is the Reason for our celebration.
Thanks for stopping by!
