T Stands for New Technique

This month's memory Verses:  Eph. 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast

Welcome to my blog!  I wanted to show you a new technique I tried.  I had been watching Tim Holtz You Tube videos, and of course was enabled to go out and buy a new product: an Alcohol Lift-Ink pad to use with Tim Holtz Alcohol inks.  So, I came home with it, watched some more videos to see how to use it again. I took some photos of what the results were.  I had fun playing with it and got some good backgrounds for cards.

Below is a photo of the inks I used and also the paper I  applied left over ink off of the blender tool.  So that will be some good background paper, too.

Number one below:  I applied several colors of alcohol inks with a blender tool onto Alcohol Ink Yupo paper.

Number two:  I inked up  SU! Something Lacy background stamp with the Alcohol Lift-Ink, and stamped it on the above paper, below is the result. It picked up the ink from above.

Nubmer three:  I stamped off  with the ink I picked up off the above onto another piece of card stock.  Result is below.
I think I like this technique, and  you see just from this print I got two backgrounds plus the stamp off sheet.  Of course I played with other colors and stamps too.  I hope that if this is new to you, it gives you an idea of what you can do with the Alcohol Lift-Ink pad.  I thought it was pretty cool.

Well, of course I am here today to link up with Altered Book Lover for Elizabeth's T Stands for Tuesday.  We are to share a drink related post.  I was at our monthly
Bible study tonight and remembered to take a photo of our drinks, which mine was iced tea. I got the  pretty decorations, in the photo,  too. We shared a lovely potluck, and had a great lesson on being thankful.  In fact our whole study for the next few months is on being thankful.  I am thankful for all of you! :)

And as promised , some more Maine photos.  This is the first day of our trip before we got to our son's.
First we visited Bath, where the visitor's center was an old train depot.

Then we got off the beaten path to go visit Owl's Head Light house.
We had to drive into a park, then park our car and walk up to the lighthouse, which is still functioning, so we couldn't go into it.  On the way we saw a sea gull, maybe?

I walked up the whole way, but hubby didn't.  I took this photo of him below.

This was at the top and as far as I could go.

I had hubby take a photo of me on the stairs.

There was a gift shop and a museum at the bottom.

There are so many lighthouses along the coast of Maine; we wanted to at least see one.

I hope you like my photos.  Thanks for stopping by today and looking. Happy Tea Day!   Have a great week!

  3. My sincere apologies. I am having a terrible time keeping my internet going. I spent nearly an hour on the phone with AT&T, my internet provider. They can’t seem to fix the problem on their end, so want to send someone out today (Tuesday) to fix the problem. If it’s MY problem, I will need to pay for the call, but they are telling me they believe it’s at their pole.

Regardless, while I was on hold and could NOT get on the internet, I decided to write this apology to each of you. Many of you know I read every word you write and I try to include a brief comment that shows I have been to visit and have seen your drink. However, I am being told I should shut the computer down every time it locks up, then reboot. I was able to leave comments to two people, but each time I did, the internet went down on me again.

Since I need to be up early to let the phone guy in (NOT my favorite time of the day), I will leave you with this generic and most grateful T day gratitude. I hope you understand this is totally out of my control and I am grateful you stopped by for T this Tuesday.

My name is Erika. has left a new comment on your post "T Stands for New Technique":

Those are beautiful flowers at your Bible study. and I love seeing your photos from Bath and Owl's Head. I haven't been to Owl's Head but a good friend of mine is originally from Bath, so I've been there a couple of times. It's great to see your photos. And I haven't tried the alcohol life technique but I am very curious about it. Your card front is so pretty. have a great T day. Hugs-Erika

  12. That new technique ha dbeautiful results, they will make lovely card backgrounds.
I smiled when I saw you went to Bath. We used to live near the city of Bath (in the Uk, lol) so this made me smile. The Bath we know is a very pretty Georgian town when Jane Austen used to live. You’ll see when you google it. And it also has Roman baths that are obviously very old and date from Roman times, They are in tact but people are not allowed to bathe there asit is not hygienic. They built a very posh modern spa next to it.
    Happy T Day,
    Lisca

  15. I've been curious about the alcohol Lift-Ink pad, Sharon. So thank you very much for this show and tell. Your pages are fabulous! I like the 2-for-1 feature: a pretty colored background and a second stamped with the lifted ink. Very cool.

Beautiful photos from Maine. Lucky you to have won the centerpiece at Bible study. It's lovely.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
