WOYWW 256

Good morning!  It is time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday!  Check out all the desks at Julia's Stamping Ground.  I have been scrapping or at least planning pages for this week-end's Virtual Scrapbook Night at Splitcoast Stampers.  You can see the pages in the planning stage on my desk, and even some that I did last Sunday.  I am using some  BoBunny paper that I have had in my stash for a couple of years, or longer than that!  About time I used it.  My cup of tea is sitting there and also, the phone.  I have it on speaker and am talking to  my GF as I am taking the photo. See those doily die cuts? Or attempts?  The good one was cut on my GF's Big Shot.  I guess my Big Shot isn't tight enough.  I will have to add shims to make it cut right.  Anyone else have problems with the SU! doily die?  Please tell me what you do.  I am giving you two views. :)
Well, that is it today.  Have a wonderful WOYWW!  Thanks for stopping by and for your encouraging comments!.   Now, I will go visit you and see what you all are doing  :)

  1. Isn't it funny how it can take us so long to use our papers?? Looks like a nice long space to scrapbook, it's nice to have room to lay things out.

  2. We all love our papers so we don't like to use them :-) For that doily die, that thing is a nightmare LOL!! If you don't get all the pieces punched out when it goes through the big shot, you have to do it manually with a paper piercer....one of my customers bought it & that's been our experience. Very frustrating so I was extremely happy to see a surprise in the new catalog :-)

  4. Lovely layouts!!! Looks like a lot of fun. I chat with my sis, or my best stamping buddy on the phone while I stamp or photograph too! Multitasking is the only way to stay ahead! :) I use a metal shim for my doilys. If you get one watch a youtube video before you try it. Make sure your metal shim is not placed so that it is a cutting surface. #73

  7. Nice crafty space. I've put clear packaging tape on the back of my solid dues that won't cut, then run thru once, then turn the die including the paper a quarter turn and run thru again. Hope that works for you. Thanks for the earlier visit! Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Nan G #82

  9. Looks like you've been busy! And I love "virtual" art get togethers... so much fun to be with folks all over the world crafting at the same time.
I've used a shim when my Big Shot doesn't cut cleanly... on some a piece of heavy acetate works well, because it won't compress. Also, there is a metal cutting plate I have for the lightweight delicate dies, that goes right underneath the metal die, and it helps get a clean cut. I can't find the name of it quickly, but hopefully you can find something similar at your local craft shop.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy WOYWW. Helen #82
P.S. Can you tell I used to work at an art and craft supply store? :D

  12. Sharon, I don't have that particular die but, I have found that adding a piece of waxed paper between the slim dies and the cardstock and running it through the big shot a few times is working much better for me with all the intricate dies regardless of mfg. ( maybe that would help?) and or shims is my second best guess. I love that you have so much space to spread all the layouts and photos on a lot. :)

  13. That is one busy scrapbooking desk there! I need to get my stuff in order as I shall be scrapping at my friend's on Saturday.
I love that copic marker stand.
As for your die problem, my friend has similar issues with some Sizzix dies. It cuts better with my BS than hers, and mine is very old! We just kept putting card in until we got a good result. Starting with thinner until we got it ok. It looks very pretty so will be worth it.
